Would you really be that blatant during a fight in front of millions ?

In a fight you are winning clearly as well

I think most of this fuss is down to ppl not believing broner could be beaten, in spite of evidence such as the ponce de leon fight. & of course the malignaggi fight in which we saw a sluggish and complacent broner - weight issues (carrying too much) and attitude issues together. some of you placed too much stock in broner APPEARING amazing vs a weight drained escobedo and a Mexican who'd already been destroyed by Valero and rees, whose world title success was a long time ago and brief (in spite of GREAT domestic run). broner had brief and you could say limited success while he was a big 130 and 135-pounder.

he's a growing young man, has to get his confidence back and change the way he fights.

roll on rematch. a bit of controversy, added on to a great fight, always makes for a rivalry. and rivalries are what it's about. something that carl froch should remember.

Has a fighter who has suffered physically or financially after participating in a fight against a person who was later found to have taken (or acknowledged having done so) any type of PED, ever taken legal action against a sanctioning body/board for not doing enough to protect his well-being?
Excellent question. I suspect the answer is no, i certainly havent heard of a case.

But i'd be surprized if the scenario doesn't crop up soon

Another question worth asking.
Should a fighter involved in something like we seen.with perez vs abdusalamov

On one hand it would be harsh on the opponent who is already struggling with the guilt of what has happened.
But on the other hand, if it transpires that either fighter was doping it would open a can of worms, but if i was the family of a seriously injured fighter, and the injury was caused by a drug cheat, i'd sure as hell want to know
I'm an even bigger American football fan than I am a boxing fan, so lets look for comparisons there for a moment...

Earlier this year the NFL agree to pay $765 million to resolve a class action lawsuit taken out against them by a group of former players who claimed that the league was responsible for their concussions.

Also, I see another class action/mass tort (please accept my apologies if any of my terminologies are incorrect, I'm not a lawyer) down the line against the league from players who will claim that the league did not do enough to protect them from other players who use(d) HGH. This will have to involve confessions and testimonies, etc but I see it as almost inevitable. The league has a reasonably good testing policy for steroids but they still do not conduct blood tests, so, as you can currently only detect HGH from blood tests, players can essentially use HGH with zero chance of being found out unless they are caught red-handed or admit guilt. So, if I were a boxer who felt wronged, I'd keep a close eye on how things go with the NFL and consider following their lead.
the example of a class action against the NFL doesn't compare. no one company/governing body oversees boxing. who would you sue.

but there would certainly be a case against individuals if someone were injured as a result of the opponent doping.

if there was no evidence of foul play of course, there would be no case. boxing is a violent sport, you take part you take your chance

I do see the difference between the way the sports are set up but do you not think it's feasible that if sanctioning body x was proven to have not gone to sufficient lengths to enforce its own rules and protect the physical and financial well being of fighters boxing under its banner, that they could be held liable by a group of boxers?

Using Olubamiwo as an example, he admitting using PEDs in every single one of his professional fights up until the ban. If those substances are banned by the BBBofC, why did they not catch him out before bout 1? If they had, Vlado Szabo would not have been knocked out in round one of that fight because the fight would not have happened.

It was after his fight with Sexton he got pinged but only because the testers had been tipped off by the DEA. He then acknowledged taking stuff throughout his entire amateur and pro career (fair play to him for coughing to that, he didn't have to). What I don't get is why all his fights have not been changed to no contests?

It brings back memories of when Arnie got beat by Monteiro. Eugene pissed hot but the loss is still on Anthony's record. Who knows if the result would've been any different had Eugene been clean but it wound up being Anthony's last fight. Why's it not an NC?

does anyone remember when roy jones tested postive after his fight with hall.

You guys need to remember that when you get to professional level that drug free athletes are almost non existent, it's almost a requirement that you need to take them to compete at a high level when there's real life changing money at hand, drug tests don't work and athletes who had had money and top level pharmaceutical doctors helping them can past the hardest drug tests known to man, sorry but you can.

And Jacob Hall stated that Jones’ attorneys would no longer be able to get Jones off the hook. He said that Roy had artificially massive levels of testosterone when tested. He ended one interview prior to the Tarver fight when he predicted that Jones would no longer look like a superman.

Jones was the money man and could do as he pleased.

Glass Joe, we don't have accurate usage stats, so claiming that almost everybody at the top end of sports is using PEDs is no more proven than the opposite. What is true is that boxing, and many other sports, have woeful testing procedures. Drug testing does work, broadly, if it is conducted rigorously, frequently, and extensive data is maintained on individual athletes. This is not happening. Why? Maybe because of expense, maybe because nobody cares enough. Who knows?

For me it should be either 100% or nothing. Proper testing, life bans, large fines; or no testing whatsoever.

Get testing all pro's even when not in camps. You hold a licence and you get tested fight or no fight.
I know the sticking point is money but even so VADA testing has upset a few big names this year and hopefully they weed out a few more,

Bit of a cheap shot on froch and imo Mariana will beat Bronner worse in any rematch
