Bruce Scott to return
Bruce Scott to return
I see he is scheduled to fight on Williams undercard, where can he go another shot for british title again?[/b]
Re: Brue Scott to Return
At 36, he's pushing on and has come off second best to the top British level at the moment. That was a brutal right hand, left hook Enzo hit him with.leforge wrote:I see he is scheduled to fight on Williams undercard, where can he go another shot for british title again?[/b]
He'll always have that power, but I don't think he'll be British Champion again.
Bruce is a mighty fine fella and a warrior at that...
Sadly he is shot to pieces.... his balance has gone and he balloons up far too big inbetween fights
He had a terrible achilles tendon injury a few years ago which effectively ended his career... he couldnt train for ages and got really heavy... Getting that weight off again was hard....
It broke my heart to see him getting stopped by Enzo after some rather iffy refereeing in the 1st round....
Good luck Lion Heart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hobson won easy, only lost a couple of rounds.....but Hobson .Nelson, and Keeton all said he was the hardest puncher they fought....ask Macca....if u think Hobson won by a round you oughta watch something else. Most knowledgeable boxing people had it 8-2-2.some wider.Podmore_Birmingham wrote:He didnt do to bad a jon against Mark Hobson last time out , people seem to forget that performance.
Hobson was very weary of his power. I had the fight 115-114 to Hobbo.
He is not as shot as some people make out.
Tom Podmore.
Hobson said he would rather fight anyone else than him again.
I think the raising of the limit will have helped Bruce a lot....tea wrote:Hobson won easy, only lost a couple of rounds.....but Hobson .Nelson, and Keeton all said he was the hardest puncher they fought....ask Macca....if u think Hobson won by a round you oughta watch something else. Most knowledgeable boxing people had it 8-2-2.some wider.Podmore_Birmingham wrote:He didnt do to bad a jon against Mark Hobson last time out , people seem to forget that performance.

He must have been approaching 17 stone when he had his achilles injury.....
Thats a lot of weight to shift

Hopefully he'll be steered away from the Haye, Hobson fighters.
Outside of the top 3 there isn't a huge amount of talent, so he may get another shot at the British title if Hobson vacates.
Looking at his record the name Adam Watt stands out , i saw a few of his fights and he was a great puncher, he either knocked you out ar got knocked out himself. Stopped Bruce in 4 rounds, and got knocked out by Nelson in 5 rounds. Great entertainment.

Great kick boxer too
Scott was a better fighter 5 years previous but still wouldnt have beaten Hobson.....he`s a serious handful at the new weight limit,it suits him better than any other fighter....I was their in ireland when he beat Corbett,it was a real war,but not a total shock....Scott at 14 4 is work for any cruiser...they should give him Haye or Macca again at the new weight as he was totalled drained and rusty in their first fight and reckless, neglecting his defence for the oh so close finish,2 years out and 13 8 was no good to him,can Haye take his bombs....I for one dont think so.
Yeah he really killed himself getting down to 13st 8 for the Enzo fight.....tea wrote:Scott was a better fighter 5 years previous but still wouldnt have beaten Hobson.....he`s a serious handful at the new weight limit,it suits him better than any other fighter....I was their in ireland when he beat Corbett,it was a real war,but not a total shock....Scott at 14 4 is work for any cruiser...they should give him Haye or Macca again at the new weight as he was totalled drained and rusty in their first fight and reckless, neglecting his defence for the oh so close finish,2 years out and 13 8 was no good to him,can Haye take his bombs....I for one dont think so.
Thats why he had to go for broke, he wasnt gonna last out for a long fight... and damn, he so nearly did it another ref on another show and it would have been over....
A prime Scott against a Prime Hobson...... hard to say... but i think i would put my money on Scott.....
No way Haye can take a Scott bomb, but Haye would probably land one of his own first and have Scott wobbling all over the place and stopped on his feet (if they fought now)..... However Prime Haye v Prime Scott... only one winner... (see Thompson v Haye)
