met Mike Brodie yesterday

Post by Phoenix »

not the longest of stories but bumped into Mike Brodie in the gym yesterday (1st pro I've met), just said alright & shook hands and kept moving. seems like a good guy, one thing I was surprised at was how big he was, I always expected featherweights to be little tiny pocket-size dudes in real life but Mike wasn't that small at all really.

off topic anyone else go see Prodigy last night @ MEN?? top night.

Mike Brodie is a quiet, self effacing individual but likes a blast on the karoeke (spl?) every now and then.
My mate saw him do a number in a local pub around Failsworth way - he wasn't too bad by all accounts!

Prodigy are too old and past it these days I reckon...Still, I loved em a few years back!!

My mate met him in a Manchester bar about 3 weeks ago. Apparently my mate started blowing smoke up his arse, saying what a great fighter he was, but Michael Brodie asked him not to talk to him about boxing and in particular his own career - though Brodie was happy to talk about other things.

My mate said that Brodie was a sound lad.

I met Brodie at a house party in Manchester. He was a top bloke, very friendly.

That's understandable though a shame - because I for one would love to speak to him about his career.
