Was just over at bluesquare and saw the odds for the Hatton fight...
The boy Maussa is 7/1 over there......

That is pretty good odds i think, the boy is a tall long reached puncher.. Hatton has had some trouble outside of the ring and is coming off the biggest win in his career and MAY underestimate Carlos....

So i stuck a little bit on the upset....

only my 3rd boxing bet ever...

1) Calzaghe pts Salem
2) Witter KO2 Bienas

were my first two so i am taking a serious risk against my undefeated record hahahahaha

Also the bookies are offering 4/6 on a member of the crowd getting their hat blown off when Maussa throws a combination :P

It is pretty huge odds. Betfair are doing 8/1 at the moment. Obviously Hatton is rightfully an overwhelming favourite, but stranger things have happened in a two-horse race (actually don't start me on two horse races.) A few pounds on Maussa at this price isn't mad.

Yeah, 8-1 is a decent price. Maussa is awkward and Hatton cuts. That is why a bet against a decent outsider against Hatton is worth a squirt.

Unfortunately, if I lay more than a couple of quid on Maussa it would ruin my enjoyment of th efight to some degree - Ricky is probably my favourite fighter at the moment and there is no way I want anything to distract me from wanting an imopressive Hatton victory.

Mitchell was the same price as Maussa, yet I would definitely give Maussa a much bigger chance of causing an upset, though it's still unlikely.

Good bet knockout, for exactly the reasons you mention. Maussu will lose every round, unless he lands that one big punch.......and he's very durable too.

Great odds on paper, but only if you collect. Worth bunging 20 quid on I guess, but I don't think Ricky is taking him lightly if what i hear about his training is correct, he looks in better shape than ever if anything in the run in to this bout.

He doesn't need to be in good shape though. Maussa is so poor his power is also overated - Harris was exhausted and all his wins are pure bums. I cracked up laughing watching him on a speedball yesterday missing the damn ball and throwing about 8 punches in about 24seconds on the speedball

Now but lets say Vilchis level of prep, ie a fighter may usually clock 5 miniute miles when in his best shape but he can afford to only be at 5:30 mile shape against someone like Maussa

Yes, even whilst managing and 'training' Harris, he was waxing lyrical about how much he admired Hatton, It's sad to see, but Manny acts like a parasite these days.
