The Sun's boxing columnist who should replace FW.
The Sun's boxing columnist who should replace FW.
Its Britain's biggest selling paper and alot of casual fans will form their opinions based on the words written in that coloumn.
I know the paper is shite as a whole but millions read it and W..arrens self serving drivell is doing no one any favours he should be replaced IMO.
Who should replace him and why or do you think he's still Mr Boxing and gives a balanced weekly report /opinion.
His picture on his column was taken about 1993 which also annoys.

Maybe Jim Watt could replace him and have his first column titled 'Why Carl Froch is such a c unt!'
You may laugh, but it would be more balanced than the stuff we read in there now.

I really don't see what the issue is with most of his columns. He has one or two digs a week, but the rest is pretty balanced and he has no problem with praising other promoters fighters, unlike Hearn in his Christmas interview where he seemed set on mentioning his own fighters only and attempting to sell Kell Brook as some sort of superstar.
Re: The Sun's boxing columnist who should replace FW.
I bought the Sunday Times today and the bloody culture/books/ TV section is missing
.....but that doesn't mean there isn't a place for The Sun. I wouldn't base my opinions exclusively on it but as a light read it's ok.
I read Wazza's column once however and it did read a lot like a personal agenda. It was crap. I wouldn't read it again.

No way! Wazza's column reading like a personal agenda? What next the sky is blue and cows go "Moooo"n1ebf wrote: I read Wazza's column once and it read like a personal agenda. It was crap.
Re: The Sun's boxing columnist who should replace FW.
I saw a TV piece a couple of years ago before the Degale fight where he said something to George Groves on TV - I can't remember exactly what it was. I thought that was a sh*tty thing to do to a young guy like Groves, for someone of his years.
Re: The Sun's boxing columnist who should replace FW.
it might have been the one where he said Ali should no longer be getting wheeled around like an attraction and people shouldn't be selfish and ask him to do things - and there was a big foto of Ali visiting Ricky Hatton's gym.Wales wrote:No way! Shame it wasn't a copy of the one where he said he was so sure maccarinelli would win, that if haye beat enzo he would retire from boxing for life!
Not enough of us held him to that.

I never went as far as that - but I also tipped Maccarinelli for that one based on his tidy win against Braitwaite. I couldn't believe what I was seeing.Wales wrote:Shame it wasn't a copy of the one where he said he was so sure maccarinelli would win, that if haye beat enzo he would retire from boxing for life!

Enzo has claimed recently that his win v Fry was his best performance. No chance. Ive told him myself that Braithwaite, whilst not flawless, was his best win. He arguably did a better job than mormeck, hernandez and cunningham did.n1ebf wrote:I never went as far as that - but I also tipped Maccarinelli for that one based on his tidy win against Braitwaite. Did Enzo say his win vs Fry was his best performance? When...post fight him and Lockett were quite downbeat saying he was poor...which did surprise me....but cannot believe Enzo has done a 180 u turn.
Re: The Sun's boxing columnist who should replace FW.
I do on the whole but its a column read by potentially millions and it's a waste.Parson Cross wrote:... or ignore ?
Just thought it would be interesting to see who if anyone people thought be a good replacement.
Im not a tabloid devotee but do recognise its power to influence the masses and feel the sport is let down by this column.

Thats an I film vid though not the biggest paper in the country.expe wrote:I really don't see what the issue is with most of his columns. My issue is that its usually very biast he digs people out who have little means of responding .It seems as well put together as a handful of tweets . Beginning to think we would not agree that coal was black expe.

I'd like to see Richie Woodhall. Balanced and fair and has insider knowledge of the GB set up so could drop bits in for the commonwealth games and build up to the Olympics aswell.
