In what way was Byrd similar to Ali...????
In the general sense that a small, skilled heavyweight couldn't get with a country mile of winning a round against peak Vitali.

Classic comedy again polecat. Timo Hoffman, Vaughn Bean, Ross Puritty and Larry Donald all fare better than Norton.

Notwithstanding that Byrd is a much smaller man than Ali, has a fighting style nothing like that of Ali, actually won several rounds vs Vitali and ended up defeating him . . . your post is spot on :DDD

I wouldn't say Ali was small?? He was 6ft 3 inch and fought tall - Byrd 6ft 1 maybe an inch in it. Ali's reach was 80" and Byrds was 74"...Even when Ali fought big men - 6ft 6 ernie terrell , 6ft 5 bugner 6ft 4 foreman he didnt get dwarfed. Ali was far far more gifted than Byrd, faster, hit harder, was stronger.
Also with the Klitschko's - a lot of their wins are enhanced by the referee's !!!!!

No need to bother with Ali, Jimmy Young would take Vitali to school.

Corrie sanders is similar in stature to Ali and was similar weight while fit. You have to remember Polecat that many of todays boxers carry excess baggage. They are fat. Certainly not true of the Klitschko's but it doesnt mean that a guy like Ali or Liston is small because they do not weigh 5000lb's.

In fact Sanders weighed almost identical to Ali (manila fight) when he starched little Klit.!
Your argument is a joke as usual..

maybe but vitali would beat moorer a former light heavy weight with ease, douglas only had one good win in his career vitali ko .ruddock good fighter might go the distance but a vitali win ,norton no chin at top level vitali KO ,lyle i haven't seen enough of lyle to describe the fight.
watch bowe vs herbie hide then watch vitali vs hide and tell me vitali isn't a very good fighter

Moorer would box circles around him.

If Douglas only had one good win, that's one more than Vitali.

Ruddock hit a lot harder than Vitali, but I could see him out-boxing him.

You're clearly not familiar with Norton, laughable statement. He'd take Vitali's best shots with a smile.

Lyle was a bad man.

I've seen both fights, both of them wiped him out. Vitali is a good fighter, nothing special. He moves well for such a big guy and has a great chin. He lacks power and his punch variety and accuracy are poor.

The only guy I'd be extremely confident in is Norton.

I personally think it is moronic to pick random names from history, that we're at best unsuccessful title challengers in their own era, and suggest they would beat a dominant champion today. He was 15 stone. He was small. He was stopped (badly) a number of times. He would lose to Vitali.

How you beat Herbie Hide, the measure of a great fighter.

Vitali can't punch for shit.
Lyle went to war with young George. He'll take Vitali into deep waters. Ruddock traded bombs with Tyson for a while before getting KOed. He might lose a decision, but he's not a chump like everyone Klit faced. Norton is gonna freeze in front of VK's power? Ridiculous.

I give Vitali a small chance against Moorer, Douglas and maybe Ruddock, but wouldn't put any money on it.

That was a horrible stoppage in Tyson/Ruddock 1.

Vitali's best win is probably Corrie Sanders, which says a lot. His two best opponents were Byrd and Lewis, who both stopped him. I know he has cuffed around a lot of slow and immobile opponents in the years since but, statistics aside, he has not been very impressive.

It must be quite frustrating having watched boxing for so long and to still know fornicate all about it.

You said Norton would go in 7. Vitali has not knocked out anyone the caliber of Norton in 7. So I pointed that out, using some C level fighters from Vitalis record to illustrate my point. You then blatantly lied, further making a complete tit of yourself.

Is someone seriously saying Vitali Klitschko would KO Ken Norton?

You would at least expect Vitali to be able to be knock out the likes of Chris Byrd, Corrie Sanders, Shannon Briggs etc if he was to have a serious shot at troubling Ken Norton.

Watch out, quoting from Vitalis record to illustrate a point is moronic.

I suppose the blind statistics would suggest Vitali can punch like Foreman and Shavers. Unfortunately that pesky footage of him proves otherwise.

If you can't put down Obed Sullivan or Corrie Sanders, or Shannon Briggs or Sam Peter, then in all seriousness you are excluded from the pantheon of heavyweight punchers. Even if you do have those big bulging biceps and weigh north of 240.

Well I'm aware that despite the Doctor Ironfist monicker, that he wasn't a Lewis sized hitter. That's why I was charitable to Norton and said 7 rounds. Foreman of course only required 2. I'm sorry, but I see Norton taking heavy punishment and eventually folding. He wasn't the most durable guy ever.

By the seventh round Vitali would be eating heavy leather and his inability to hurt Norton would have him backpedaling like he was in a race.
