Re: Mark Denton murdered
im sick of this country. I really am, I know you cant stop all this thats happening but its getting on my nerves. Its generally all drug related (not saying this is though) all this effing crime. Bout time the government did some action or got real about the crime thats being committed in this country, start to listen to the public and not Brussels. Another sad loss and another youngster behind bars, but it effects more than the 2 people here involved. My brother was killed in prison some 25 years ago aged 18 and the effects last a life time. A man has been killed and left loved ones suffering. A man has killed and left a family devastated. But he will be home before he is 27.

wind your neck in pal, life in the ghetto has always been tough, always will be. what's the govt go to do with anything?
without knowing the facts behind the case it's silly to start wringing your hands in mock grief just because one of them was a boxer.
Re: Mark Denton murdered
Anyone know his background? Why did he only have the one bout? Was he into 'the life' too much?

Where do you think the UK is? Ghetto? The UK is not the Bronx.veriton wrote:mimmy123 wrote:im sick of this country. Also ive been through this my friend so you wind your neck in!
My point was that there are too many youngsters in this country either dieing or killing. Whatever the reason people do not kill just for the sake of it there are always circumstances. Its a crying shame that lots of people are suffering because in most cases there are gangs and drugs involved. People are killing for money for drugs, people are killing because they are in rival gangs etc. I am not making any presumptions what happened here all I know it devastates families. The government have to take some responsibility when crime is as it is. No work, no money. Kids cant get a job because all trade is overseas in sweatshops. We are not America where murder is once every minute or so. We do not live in Ghetto's, sure there are bad parts of the UK but I would not be scared to 'death' to walk don a street in Hartlepool, infact been there several times with my kids on cross country races and Northern league footy matches, and never once seen a murder! Never once seen a mugging etc, infact in my 45 years of poor existence I have never witnessed a murder or a mugging or a theft. How many americans can say that. We do not live in america, Ghetto's dont make me laugh.
Re: Mark Denton murdered
Well if the government legalised drugs there would be far less crime and more chilled out people.

Re: Mark Denton murdered
Not necessarily chilled out people but there are pros and cons to your reply. I certainly think it would cut the deaths through 'bad' drugs and gang deaths and mafia deaths, sure. But it could also increase healthcare and possibly mental health, healthcare. Other problems could arise form legalising drugs, its certainly a worthy debate.banjo wrote:Well if the government legalised drugs there would be far less crime and more chilled out people.
Re: Mark Denton murdered
It's a shame, he was still young and people looked up to him.
(I wonder if Micky Hunter knew him well).

Yeah Micky knows him well. I've just heard from someone pretty close to him. Not my place to talk about it but it wasn't drugs
I imagine Micky knows just about everyone around there; it's a right shame and I imagine at a party everyone is drunk etc and a little thing turns into a big thing really quickly.
Like mimmy said earlier; it is terrible for all involved and their families.

You have to be more than a bit drunk to brain someone with an axe. Mental.palooka wrote:Cheers billy.billy bessey wrote:palooka wrote:It's a shame, he was still young and people looked up to him.

He's been hit with an axe?
Jesus.

You were pretty vocal in your earlier post before you knew the facts, now you know a bit more it is suddenly "not your place to talk about it" ?billy bessey wrote: I've just heard from someone pretty close to him. Not my place to talk about it but it wasn't drugs

Mark is popular around these parts especially by the North East boxers!!
I collected "debts" in the Hartlepool area for about a year, its not a place to upset the locals, they stick together!!
No one deserves to lose their life ... RIP

Re: Mark Denton murdered
The truth will come out I'm vocal because I know what it's like up there. Before I moved up there I thought gangsters were only in films yet less than a week after moving up there I had a gun pointed at me and also saw a lot of things up there what you wouldn't believe true. It's a hard hard town but if what I was told is true than it was more a case of people thinking they're above the law just like loads up there do[/quote]
I reckon they may twin town Hartlepool and Doncaster, they seem very similar places.

Re: Mark Denton murdered
His brother; Craig; was very good as an amateur as well wasn't he; always up there in the ABA's - it takes a lot of strength and character to make something of yourself in sport and that someone can be taken away so suddenly at a party is really shocking.
Re: Mark Denton murdered
I remember Craig aswell, was he a middle too?
I never saw Denton v Gary Barr , they were meant to be close fights.

Re: Mark Denton murdered
A shame when something like this happens. Fight the fight, win or lose, shake hands when its done and move on. Never understood all this come back for revenge with mates and even then, attack from behind? What a bunch fvcking cowards, seriously.
