@chambers froch entered the super 6 and got beat twice ,he's a good fighter that gives his all in fights BUT a complete dick outside the ring you said i should show him respect ,why should i when froch shows no respect for anyone else ,froch has shown no interest in fighting ward again because ward schooled froch ,then grooves did for 8 rds and surprise surprise froch wants nothing to do with him ....
the bit i don't like about froch was that after the fight when it's all done he carried on acting as if he did well and that he schooled groves . it took 20,000 of his own fans booing him for froch to realise he was talking crap ...

I think you are being a bit diengenerous here. Bika might hold the WBC belt, but no one is fussed about that fight.Viktor Vaughn wrote:No. A series of punches prompted the decision, one that many disagreed with but some agreed with. People are trying to make out that Foster just stepped in out of the blue when Groves was absolutely at the top of his game. I felt it should have continued, but the end seemed nigh and Groves made a lot of mistakes, which will need to be rectified or it’ll just be a repeat of the first fight.big lennox wrote:
It was Howard Foster who led to the outcome.
It is quite revealing that someone who has made a career out of fighting everyone, won't now go back in with someone, who lets face it, battered him.
It was a disastrous fight for him, because it put to bed Calzaghe-Froch argument, and when you look at his career at the end, you will note that he really did struggle with movers, and not quite as good as he beleives himself to be.
Ward doesn't need to give Froch a rematch because he beat him so comprehensively that there is not much intrigue there, but Froch has( in a very half hearted way called him out), and Ward is happy to rematch him. Why wouldn't Froch want to rematch Groves in a huge money spinner?
He told everyone in the arena and the viewing audience on tv that he would, so I think even the lay person will be asking these questions.
Comparing Calzaghe to Groves is ridiculous. I don’t for one moment think that Froch could beat Calzaghe yet that’s not based on Groves, who is an orthodox fighter with a different fighting style to Calzaghe.
Froch said what he did in the arena to take the sting out of the crowd. If you took what was said post-fight at face value all of the time then you’re always going to be sorely disappointed.
As I said, anyone who thinks that this one fight will erase the rest of Froch’s career is barking up the wrong tree. The rest of the fallout from the fight has been pretty nonsensical.
If Ward is doable then that’s the fight to take, above all others, and the Bika one would make sense as well. People are writing the Bika one off completely and saying it’s Groves or nothing, who holds the WBC title?
I'm struggling to see why Froch wouldn't want to fight Groves again, remove all doubt and get paid bucket loads for it. The rest of his career has been great, it really has, and I am not saying otherwise. What I am saying though, is that refusing to even entertain the idea of fighting Groves again, does force people to re-evaluate the ultimate warrier tag. How could it not?
"I will fight anyone, anywhere....except the person who really put it on me for the first time in my life who happens to be the one oppnent that I have hated above all others".

Re: will froch finds his bollox in 2014
a lot of ppl would be happy if froch and groves resolved their rivalry. no doubt it would be fierce, thrilling & perhaps even controversial - again.
froch seems set on ward, but it's just not his kind of honest, bone crunching kind of fight. he's not the guy with the answer for ward's angles and sneakiness & their last fight was pretty turgid. froch has seemingly lost the kind of home support he'd need - between Kessler 2 & groves wars - needed to tempt ward over here & give it that one huge effort at home...
most fighters wait their whole career for a high profile, big money rivalry & if froch wants it he has it, with groves, who may go on to be a major name on the world scene. didn't hurt the careers of misters benn & eubank, did it!

That's the top and bottom of the issue + one could even make a case for him losing three times in that series, because I think Dirrell edged it.stevedoc wrote:@chambers froch entered the super 6 and got beat twice ,he's a good fighter that gives his all in fights BUT a complete dick outside the ring you said i should show him respect ,why should i when froch shows no respect for anyone else ,froch has shown no interest in fighting ward again because ward schooled froch ,then grooves did for 8 rds and surprise surprise froch wants nothing to do with him ....

froch also did have 2 fights before the super 6, that were super 6 worthy - pascal, who went on to win the WBC 175-pound title; & taylor, former lineal middleweight king - in punishing, indeed thrilling fights. these fights are also worth mentioning.stevedoc wrote:@chambers froch entered the super 6 and got beat twice ,he's a good fighter that gives his all in fights BUT a complete dick outside the ring you said i should show him respect ,why should i when froch shows no respect for anyone else ,froch has shown no interest in fighting ward again because ward schooled froch ,then grooves did for 8 rds and surprise surprise froch wants nothing to do with him ....

I think the problem with froch is, HE DOES want to fight ward again. froch gained a new lease of life, looking invincible vs bute & mack; had the big revenge win over Kessler; then seemed unsatisfied, took things for granted, totally overlooked Stevenson who could've given him a dreadful shock had the fight come off - & seemingly went into the groves bout without even the hint of a strategy beyond letting the guy batter you and wearing him down in the late stages!
reckon froch needs to be diplomatic, needs to pick his opponents with more care. groves brings risk plus financial reward; other names out there such as golovkin are desperate for big fights, have acclaim in the media and fan sympathy (plus major amateur background)...
Re: will froch finds his bollox in 2014
Froch has an awful lot of qualities and so does Bika but I'd be surprised if 2 less orthodox and untidy boxers will have contested a high profile bout; it'd be a horrible maul between 2 very strong men.

Re: will froch finds his bollox in 2014
The Pascal and Taylor wins were Super Six worthy, but the Mach fight wasn't. That was a gimmie fight, as Mach should never have been fighting below light heavyweight and was never that good to sdtart with though. Before and after that though, it has been a stellar line up, no deny it.
I just hope Froch doesn't go and tarnish that legacy by avoiding Groves or Ward.
When I see interviews with Froch and Kugan Cassius, I think he is a really good bloke, who is approachable and friendly, I just wish he wasn't so sour about other fighters. He doesn't need to be.

i only started this thread as a bit of a joke to see what peoples reaction would be and it has got a reaction .......
i have to admit i never liked froch from when he was constantly talking about calzaghe while joe was champion . he showed a complete lack of respect for calzaghe when froch wasn't even in the top 10 ,yet he hated it being done to him . whats the saying don't dish it out if you can't take it ,
if froch came out after the fight with groves and said i took him lightly and it was a tough fight i'd be fine with that but it's froch's complete failure give any credit at the time to groves or even ward that i don't like about froch .

Re: will froch finds his bollox in 2014
I dare say that Froch would get in with anyone if the money was right but I remember in the build up to Groves; Froch said it would be horrible if he were to lose to Groves, that all his other achievements would mean nothing. I think that Groves surprised Froch with his ability, Froch expected to deal with him handily and he got the fright of his life. The stoppage was premature and I imagine that the pummelling that Froch took over the 8 rounds will have an effect in his next bout.
Froch is an admirable fighter and a dislikable man.

Re: will froch finds his bollox in 2014
The thing that always got me with Calzaghe was how he just dismissed Froch completely, he didn't even feel the need to slag Froch off, he thought "I'll make more money fighting the corpse of Roy Jones Jr than I ever would against Froch"

Froch gets a lot of credit for fighting 'anyone and everyone' and rightly so. But I think Ward gets overlooked in that department. His competition has been just as tough and he hasn't ducked anyone
Re: will froch finds his bollox in 2014
The thing is that there are many banana skins there at high world level and Froch did slip v Groves - he imagined he was proven ultra top level and Groves was domestic level who struggled there.
Froch may have more options than Groves but Groves has far more audience recognition than he did before the Froch bout. I half hope that Groves goes another way and leaves Froch to his devices; there's no way on earth Froch will beat Ward and there's no way on earth Ward will box over here or that the PPV will be bigger than for a Groves rematch. A Bika bout may as well be in a wrestling ring and any boxing purist or fan ought not to watch. Chavez is a name fighter who has had plenty of hometown decisions, he'll not box in Nottingham - and there's a good chance Froch would beat him and lose on points (a la Brian Vera).
Groves gave Froch a lot of grief and Froch and McCracken know it, Groves is more than a decade younger and has time on his side whereas Froch is looking to cash on out.

Mostly though, boxers are full of it on the way up and then more content with what they've achieved and less full of spite and vitriol when they've been champions for a while. Froch has kept his bile going at an acidic rate all his career, they'll have to bury him in a lead lined casket so it doesn't burn through.Chambers2 wrote:A disrespectful boxer, whatever next. Exactly, the mind boggles. People say things like 'Oh but Ali got away with being disrespectful because he had charm and he could back it up in the ring'. Why does anyone give a shit about those 'conditions' to be met for it to be seen as acceptable to be outspoken, this is the hurt business where bad intentions are dealt out in the ring and outside it. If you don't like it don't watch the press conferences or the interviews. Judge the fighters on their fornicating ring performance.Chambers2 wrote:A disrespectful boxer, whatever next. Froch will rematch Groves, he just wont give him an immediate rematch, because it is a dangerous fight that should he lose it makes other fights (Ward, Chavez) harder to make. He'll rematch Groves when he has no other options left and probably retire after that fight. Groves needs to start carving out a legacy for himself instead of trying to piggyback off one good, but losing, performance. Yes, Froch is a bit of a dick outside the ring and in interviews, but seriously, if that is your worst trait as a boxer then you are doing pretty damn well. Froch has been getting more stick on this forum over the past few months than the drug cheats and wife beaters, people need to get a little perspective.

Re: will froch finds his bollox in 2014
I am scared for boxing in the country if this forum is anything to go by. Why do most have to see it black and white, hero and villain etc? Groves had a great first 6 rounds, showing speed, skill and power. Then Froch, even after an unreal punch in the 1st, comes back and takes it to Groves. Something that 99% of boxers wouldn't be able to do, showing great heart, strength and stamina. Both deserve credit despite the early stoppage.
Froch has nothing to prove to these idiots claiming he's lost his bottle/no longer a warrior etc. He's put on some great performances and fought the best in the division, risking his health to earn good money and achieve great things while some turnips just sit on their arse moaning. Maybe it's because they'll never do anything with their lives. People should be saying how incredible it is that a Brit, who isn't the most naturally gifted, went on to become 3 time world champ in one of the deepest divisions in world boxing, ducking no one along the way.
Sorry for the rant but I just find it depressing how some people just have to find a negative with everything.
