At 130 it seems like it could go either way,at 135 i'd favor Mayweather, but still a somewhat decent chance for Arguello, but obviously at 140,it'd be very likely, quite bad for Arguello. He just didnt really have it at 140.
I'd estimate,at 130,this would go the distance and in a first bout in a 3 bout trilogy,Mayweather takes a close decision,Arguello takes a close decision in the 2nd bout, and Mayweather gets the slight nod in the 3rd bout. i could see Arguello tagging Mayweather early on in likely the 1st encounter and putting Floyd on the deck. All 3 would likely make for very competitive action by the abundance clashes.
At 135,you never really exactly know but basically for the most part in a random given scenario barring upset for Alexis,i can usually only see/picture/imagine Floyd winning a relatively clear cut decision. Not exactly blowing away Arguello but basically considerably all around less competitive than it would be at 130. Something like 7-3-2 for Floyd in a 12 rd'er and 9-4-2 in a 15 rd'er.
At 140,it would be likely a 9-3 type decision win for floyd in a 12 rd'er and perhaps a tko for floyd in the 14th or 15th in a 15 rd'er. Arguello was just nowhere near the fighter at 140 as he was at 130,or even comparing him at 135 theyr'es quite a difference.

I think Floyd would be able to take him at all 3 weights, but he'd take him more easily at 140. At 130 or 135 he'd win a close decision.

At 130 for me Arguello beat him by decision
At 135 Floyd would take a close decision
At 140 Floyd beat AA by decision as well

Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr vs Alexis Arguello
Floyd by wide decision at any weight. His feet are too fast and he's too smart to give Alexis time to get off. Horrible style match up for Arguello. 10-2, 11-1, 12-3 ish.
Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr vs Alexis Arguello
Arguello by close split decision, punctuated by a late knockdown of Mayweather in the eleventh.
Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr vs Alexis Arguello
Floyd in a peak for peak...
But I'm guessing that in terms of size Floyd is a bigger guy. With weigh in times it's hard to imagine him making 126 or 130 in Arguello's day. He also wasn't the fighter he would become.
I can imagine a more seasoned Arguello beating a less experienced Floyd at 126 and 130. But after that (135 and above) Floyd would win for the reasons Saad states...maybe not quite as wide...

I think Floyd is too fast, both hands and feet, for Alexis. It pains me to say it but Floyd at any weight.

Alexis' achille heel was his own slow footwork. If he couldn't cut off the ring and catch you, he had plenty difficulty. Witness his loss to Vilomar Fernandez.
Mayweather moves to well and too quickly for Arguello. A unanimous decision for "Money" at all 3 weights. At 140, though, he might come close to stopping El Flaco Explosivo.
