im sick of this country. I really am, I know you cant stop all this thats happening but its getting on my nerves. Its generally all drug related (not saying this is though) all this effing crime. Bout time the government did some action or got real about the crime thats being committed in this country, start to listen to the public and not Brussels. Another sad loss and another youngster behind bars, but it effects more than the 2 people here involved. My brother was killed in prison some 25 years ago aged 18 and the effects last a life time. A man has been killed and left loved ones suffering. A man has killed and left a family devastated. But he will be home before he is 27.

My point was that there are too many youngsters in this country either dieing or killing. Whatever the reason people do not kill just for the sake of it there are always circumstances. Its a crying shame that lots of people are suffering because in most cases there are gangs and drugs involved. People are killing for money for drugs, people are killing because they are in rival gangs etc. I am not making any presumptions what happened here all I know it devastates families. The government have to take some responsibility when crime is as it is. No work, no money. Kids cant get a job because all trade is overseas in sweatshops. We are not America where murder is once every minute or so. We do not live in Ghetto's, sure there are bad parts of the UK but I would not be scared to 'death' to walk don a street in Hartlepool, infact been there several times with my kids on cross country races and Northern league footy matches, and never once seen a murder! Never once seen a mugging etc, infact in my 45 years of poor existence I have never witnessed a murder or a mugging or a theft. How many americans can say that. We do not live in america, Ghetto's dont make me laugh.

Exactly what I thought. The only reason they had books about them, seemingly written by their best friends too, is because they were murdered. That's the only remotely interesting thing about them.

In the Duffy book there was something about a guy who travelled to Jamaica and a local asked where he was from, when he said Teesside, the local apparently asked him if he had heard of Lee Duffy!

I got kicked in when I was around 11 years old by a 40 odd year old bloke! smacked my face in, but as it was a tough pit village my dad could not go to the police for obvious reasons. I was jumped on when I was around 10 or 11 by a 15 year old lad, I said something to his sister that upset her, well boom, I got a fcuking kick in. Had to be helped home by a lorry driver who stopped to pull the fornicator off me.

It was real tough we ended up moving up North because my dads mate got robbed by some 'travellers', had his house broken into and was robbed at knife point. My dads mate recognised one of the 'kids' and they went around to his house as a lot of money was stolen, my dads mate was an antiques dealer. Well it kicked off and they threatened my dad. At the time my old man worked at International Harvesters in Donny so he made a load of pointers and hid some under his pillow and around the house. It got too bad so we had to move out of Donny. It was in everyones blood, my kid brother grew up with sticky fingers and ended up mixing with the wrong crowd, robbing to make a few quid here and there. Ended up inside and was taken out in a wooden box. It was all covered up, I remember at the inquest no one heard anything. The fcuking slimey prison governor walked away clean. To this day (died in 89) dont know the real facts, In court no one would talk.

Kids in the late 70's and early 80's didnt fight with knives and guns, you generally got a kick in and a slap each time you passed them on the street, there was no such thing a gun crime or drugs even. Killing Pablo is a good book if you're looking for one on Escobar. Its fascinating to see the depths of how deep his network ran and how much power one man was afforded purely on drugs and violence.

Glad you were joking. I was involved in it all as a teenager, sick of the sight of flapping cheeks by the time I was 18. Simmy would go in a pub and spit on the floor, whoever stood on it got it.
