Venetian or Bellagio would be good in terms of brownie points but pretty expensive.
Failing that, the MGM or Caesars would be good. Caesars and Bellagio in a great spot on the strip.

I went in August for two weeks and stayed in three different hotels but went to look round them allRainford massive wrote:I suppose a boxing site is a good place too ask , any ideas for me and the wife ?

For me the best located hotel is the Aria or the Vdara, which are two of the 'newer' hotels (no real 'theme' if you like) but great location about halfway down the strip so easy access for everything really.
However we also stayed at the Encore at the Wynn which is exeptional and also the venetian which is a day out in itself so its hard to say really.
PM me mate if you want to know more, crazy crazy place

If money is no object, based upon personal experience:
1) MGM
2) Mandalay Bay
3) Trump
4) Super 8
If money is an object, Trump.

The Palms - you get a lot of bang for your buck and a free shuttle to the strip.
Worth checking out, especially if you're looking to cut costs.

Re: Las Vegas ? Where too stay
When I went for the calzage Hopkins fight in April 08, all of us where on a bit of a tight budget and got a blinding deal staying at the best western just off the strip, we had the pool to our selfs, the bar/restaurant was great, they had big screens for sport and we were 30 seconds from the monorail which took us inside the MGM in about 3 minutes ! I would stay on the strip next time just to say I've done it, but the hotels are so big your sharing it with thousands of people who are just passing through it, and if you do fancy a couple of hours just chilling by the pool one day, it's apparently a long walk just getting there ! But your love it there mate

No way is that including accommodation and direct flights.sweetscience wrote:$1000 is only £300 each if there is two of you... cheap as chipsjessi wrote:i hope that's including flights ?sweetscience wrote:ive booked Planet Hollywood... never been but its only $1000 for a decent size room for a week

When I looked into it a couple of months ago, even using cheapo sites like Expedia and looking at moderate strip hotels it was over £900 each with direct flights. Flights to Vegas alone (unless you go on the deals where you land four times and it takes 24 hours) cost £500 to £600 each most times of the year.

MGM then one night head accross the road to hooters for the niciest chicken wings in the world
MGM has it all and has the poker chips with all the boxers faces on them which is fairly cool

Re: Las Vegas ? Where too stay
i stayed at the luxor and mgm a few years back. both nice hotels but the mgm was by far the better of the two. it was probably the better of the hotels i visited when i was there. thought the others do look a bit better if you have more money to spend

Re: Las Vegas ? Where too stay
Stayed at the Cosmoplotan earlier this year.
It's one of the newest hotels on the strip, sits opposite Planet Hollywood and next to the Bellagio so is central - It has balconies which is a big plus in my opinion (nearly all vegas hotels on the strip don't have them) We had a suite overlooking the Bellagio fountains and the strip, it was top notch.
There some very nice hotels though, Vdara, Bellagio, Aria, Palazzo, Ventian, Encore and Wynn are all places I'd like to stay.
By the way give downtown veags a visit, it's a great night out.

Re: Las Vegas ? Where too stay
Anywhere, they are all cheap as fornicate compared to the UK, I stayed at the Luxor and loved it, Bellagio like someone else said is the bollocks
Treasure Island, Ceasars and places down that side of the strip I do not advise, stay at the MGM, Bellagio in the middle and awesome or the Luxor, well out of the hum drum

The Wynn for lodging is better than the rest in my opinion.
The Palms has the best scenery (hot babes)
As far as gambling, they all rip you off

Re: Las Vegas ? Where too stay
Im considering booking vegas for May 3rd when Mayweather is expected to be fighting but I'm a bit worried to book before any announcements are made.
I know he is expected to fight that weekend and is more than likely to fight in the MGM as usual but I'm not confident enough to slap my money down on it at the moment.
Anyway, to answer the OP….. I previously stayed in the MGM and probably will try and do so again. Most places appeared to be top notch tho so have a search about online at the hotels with better locations and see where you can get the best deal for.

Ive stayed at Planet Hollywood and the Vdara , the room in the Vdara is fantastic but it hasnt really got the Vegas atmosphere as it has no Casino in it, im staying MGM Grand this year but i dont think you can to bad werever you stay the place is brilliant!
