Re: British title being added to Hull bill ???
Now that's a really bad fight for a British title..
Re: British title being added to Hull bill ???
Its not a very strong divsion tbf. Mcdonnell has won a eliminator and a final eliminator so his in the mix deservingly so. As for wood he hasn't done a lot wrong but has only fought journeymen ( he has won 2 10 rounders for masters titles I think one against bailey stopped by a cut. And another v a lad from brazil). I think had the whale v jazza dickens english title fight happend towards the end of last year happened the winner of that wud hav been in-line b4 wood.

Why's Galahad vacating? He's only just won it.

A lot of people wont have seen Leigh yet, Assuming this fight (if it happens) will be shown on Sky, then Leigh is in a good position to make some noise.
Re: British title being added to Hull bill ???
I don't get it either, you'd only give up the British if there was a world title shot on the go and I very much doubt that's the case.Horse wrote:Why's Galahad vacating? He's only just won it.

Galahad and Wood are both from the same Gym, im assuming that has a part to play in it.mickey1975 wrote:He's avoiding McDonnell and Wood.

Isn't many who can beat him is there? and he beat the best out of the rest so to win it outright be pointless, unless he really cares.The_Don1 wrote:I don't get it either, you'd only give up the British if there was a world title shot on the go and I very much doubt that's the case.Horse wrote:Why's Galahad vacating? Mcdonnell vs Wood for Vacant British Super Bantamweight title is now confirmed.
Re: British title being added to Hull bill ???
Was he not mandatory for Frampton's EBU title before he vacated? Maybe he's going to fight for that nextHorse wrote:Why's Galahad vacating? He's only just won it.

No disrespect to these fighters who I haven't seen much of, but can see why Arthur is coming back.
Wonder if Rendall can still do the weight?

Possibly, but he's boxing for the European at feather in a couple of weeks.stujones wrote:No disrespect to these fighters who I haven't seen much of, but can see why Arthur is coming back.

At domestic level it isn't. Quigg frampton way above. Galahad is mandatory for european title so he has no interest at domestic level. Dickens had a shot and gased out wen he was wininng imo. Who else is their pushing apart from mcdonnell. Wood has fought mainly at feather and was talking up a fight for english title with warrington not so long back. If he can do the weight fair play and good luck. But passed the 3 names mentioned who else is their.

Those who havent seen Leigh should maybe hold back judgement until afterward.
Hes ambitious and wants to join those top names, He trains daily with Kid Galahad at the Ingle gym, so theyll know if hes of that level.
This is more than a British title fight to him, its the opportunity to get his name out there, He can get the whole of Nottingham behind him in a way that Froch did, secure a Promotional deal etc etc, Hes coming into this fight with the intention of showing exactly what hes all about.
Hes a humble and very nice guy but he is also supremely confident in his ability.
Ive always expected him to become a name in British boxing since the day he boxed on one of my first ever shows, you could see then that he had talent.
2 time ABA semi finalist and was part of the GB Elite squad, turned pro when he missed out on the olympics, so whilst that wasnt setting the world alight it was a solid Amateur career.
As the away boxer i imagine hes not considered the favourite to win, but he will win, i guarantee it, Leigh himself predicts a stoppage win.
