Geale Vs Wood & Murray VS Fletcher
Geale Vs Wood & Murray VS Fletcher
Just wanted peoples opinion on the Geale Vs Wood fight? Wood can make for an ugly stoush but I think Geale should be far to classy for him and beat him late stoppage or on points.
Word is Murray Vs Fletcher is off?? Be a great shame for Fletcher !! If that were the case would be better to see Geale Vs Fletcher in some kind of eliminator if it were me?! thoughts?

Please tell me Gease vs Wood isn't true.
As for Murray vs Fletcher, I really hope it hasnt been binned. I am getting frustrated by Aussies fighting in the UK being sidelined...

Yes it is. Murray pulled out this morning at 8am Oz time. Team Fletch are now looking for another opponent. For time being, I had to remove the title, as Murray is still the Interm champ, which I can't understand, after he got done in WBC title challenge.N2 Shape wrote:Just wanted peoples opinion on the Geale Vs Wood fight? geale v wood feb 19 is on geale ud
Re: Geale Vs Wood & Murray VS Fletcher
really disappointed for jarrod.
wouldnt mind seeing Fletcher v Geale as a warm for geale v GGG.
Geale should take care of Garth reasonably comfortbaly if he boxes smart. If he get drawn into a scrappy test of strength style fight it will play into Garths hands.
Geale by TKO.

Re: Geale Vs Wood & Murray VS Fletcher
I don't understand why Geale would even consider fighting Wood, to me its a no win fight. He should win easy but where does that get him?The chance of a stoppage by head butt is very high, Stupid stupid fight for me ![[icon_e_surprised.gif] :oo](./images/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif)
Re: Geale Vs Wood & Murray VS Fletcher
Stylistically, Wood would be a better option than Fletcher for GGG
Re: Geale Vs Wood & Murray VS Fletcher
I agree Colin. I take it has something to do with Garths WBA ranking. However I noticed Geale had gone into 3 in the WBA and Soliman 15, whilst still holding their IBF rankings. Not sure how up to date the repsective sites are.colin russell wrote:I don't understand why Geale would even consider fighting Wood, to me its a no win fight. Re: Geale Vs Wood & Murray VS Fletcher
Ironic, that he is third, when in fact he still is the champ technically!
Re: Geale Vs Wood & Murray VS Fletcher
How is he the champ technically? He vacated it when he had to face GGG and if he hadn't he would have lost that title to barker too
Re: Geale Vs Wood & Murray VS Fletcher
Dan he had 7 weeks from the Mundine fight to defend his belt, no ifs or buts. 7 weeks, so they stripped him, if WE consider Mundine a man to have never won a title because he fought for vacated titles whilst a super champion was in place, Daniel was Super world middle WBA at the time, why is it any different here. Barker will always be remembered as a sore point, still don't believe he won that fight, although it reads he does.I was right about Barker lossing it In his next outing
Re: Geale Vs Wood & Murray VS Fletcher
I have been and still am a huge geale fan and I can't wait to see him back on top. But I can't honestly say that I thought he beat barker. Of with the knock down I think barker edged it. Geale was disappointing on the night and fought and odd style.
Geale had over 4 months to fight GGG after the sturm fight but hadn't began negotiations after 7 weeks because HE CHOSE to fight mundine rather than defend against GGG. He was going to have to give one title up and he decided to keep the IBF. I agree geale is champ material and I think he can beat GGG if they fight, I just can't agree that he is technically still the champ.

Re: Geale Vs Wood & Murray VS Fletcher
Not saying he is still champ, finding it hard to believe the last guy to hold the super WBA title less than a fight ago is ranked third, yet he never lost the belt! This is the point.
GGG a worthy champion, still imo hasn't won a belt bar the IBO, however I disagree about him beating GGG.....
just over 2 mill he made on Mundine, he wouldn'thave got anywhere near that, and like most people I thought he beat Mundine the first time, so I could have understood why he did take that fight...surprised as probably the WBA as to why they didn't allow this fight to take place as I'm sure the cut would have been higher on this fight than any GGG fight thus far.
I still don't think Barker won, however agree it was Geales worse performance
