For some reason, I think it is really cool than handball was a part of his conditioning

Yea, a lot of the old-timers played handball. Benny Bass and Al Gordon would run 8 miles every morning, in the afternoon, do calisthenics and hard training including 8 rounds of sparring then play handball for a couple of hours to "wind-down." No doubt Greb trained very much the same. Is it any wonder why these guys had such great stamina, even in the late rounds ?

Greb look's no heavier than a Welterweight in those clips.

he looks great. there's an awful lot of strength and power in his physique especially in those thighs. his balance is off beam however. greb had an amazing will to win and there's a quiet menace about him in these reels. compared to the very affable fellow that jack O'Brien clearly was, greb has a deep dark killer lurking not too far from the surface

It's the first thing you notice looking at film of a lot of pre-1930/40s fighters.
