Price's problems aren't technical ones, while his defence could be tighter, they're mostly mental. Nervousness, a lack of confidence and an over reliance on the right hand, plus a dodgy chin, have led to a nightmare year for him. That's why Adam Booth would have been right for him, very few work better with the mental side of boxing than Booth and he would have steadied the ship and addressed the underlying issues in Price's boxing.

I get that from time to time when I visit BS. I think it's some of the adverts they use - their adverts also start blurting out noise from time to time, which pisses me off. It's a shame that one of the better sites in terms of content is horrible in terms of layout and advertising campaigns. I partially fixed it by using ad blocking software but that doesn't solve the layout problems.

Price has hooked up with Brooks previously in the States prior to his fight with Audley Harrison. Not sure what to make of David's decision to go back to what he knows but perhaps he has a comfort zone?

Disappointed to see him part company with Adam Booth who I felt would have done a good job with him if Price was prepared to listen...

As I understand it, Brooks is coming over to Liverpool rather than David going over to the US. That pretty much tells its own tale. I'm not going to knock a guy for wanting to be near his family.

You learn lots in the gym in the middle of fights , he needs a settled permanent trainer

This has disaster written all over it, he's coming in to train him for fights and then jetting back again, did he learn nothing from the short-term Lewis experience?

Price would've have gone somewhere sticking with Booth but if being around his missus and kids is more important fair play it just means his career won't go anywhere

I think Sauerland have just made their first, critical mistake; Brooks looks the typical 'flying trainer' and what David actually needs is to be taken right out of his comfort zone, even deconstructed a bit, by someone like Booth and forced to live the business 24/7. Booth, love or hate him, delivers on that front and was the far better option.

David has already wasted a lot of time by doing the whole stay at home thing with his old amateur trainer and now he's working with Brooks, who was first class, but has not exactly been the trainer of choice for modern fighters. His best men (and they are top fighters) actually go some way back. He did some stuff with Tony Jeffries recently and that was not great.
