Fury or Chisora v Thompson?
Fury or Chisora v Thompson?
Im surprised neither fighter has tried picking up a fight against thompson, he's well respected and beating him in style would gain that fighter major kudos and prove a big point domestically.

Agree with you, but I don't think the respective promoters of Fury and Chisora can afford him and break even on the promotion.
Re: Fury or Chisora v Thompson?
Pulev ended thompson's nice little run ! Chisora v fury first atleast

Too much risk? I could see Thompson giving both more than enough trouble, especially Del Boy.

Re: Fury or Chisora v Thompson?
True but in a way it wasn't a loss that made much difference to Thompson's general standing/reputation. He went the distance, won a few rounds, and in the end got beat by maybe the best heavyweight contender..... which given his age is pretty good going really. He is after all only Tony Thompson, and I don't mean that harshly. I think a third visit to British shores for a fight with Chisora or Fury would be marketable, it's not like he got flattened in Germany.jessi wrote:Pulev ended thompson's nice little run ! Re: Fury or Chisora v Thompson?
It would be a test for Fury to go in with Tony Thompson, he is a tall Southpaw with decent pop and if Fury wants a crack at Wladimir K then fighting Thompson would be a very good barometer fight to see how he deals with Thompson in comparison to Kubrat Pulev for example.
Re: Fury or Chisora v Thompson?
Thompson has become very demanding in terms of coins since he twice disposed of david 'asda' price!
Re: Fury or Chisora v Thompson?
Pulev made it look straightforward, at it should be. They know they have to do at least as well, and neither is as good as Pulev.

Pulev make it straightforward or did Thompson just gas? - thought Thompson was winning the early rounds.SamWise72 wrote:Pulev made it look straightforward, at it should be. They know they have to do at least as well, and neither is as good as Pulev.

Re: Fury or Chisora v Thompson?
Pulev lost every single minute of the first three rounds. He defintely didn't make it look 'straightforward'Horse wrote:stujones wrote:Pulev make it straightforward or did Thompson just gas? - thought Thompson was winning the early rounds.
He was also rocked quite badly in the mid rounds when old man Thompson had gassed and went for broke.
The second half of the fight was definitely straightforward for Pulev - but Pulev's stock and confidence took a bit of a dent, hence why he insisted on a tune up fight before Wlad vs a journeyman.
Unfortunately the journeyman put him on the floor for the first time in his career.
So now he is having ANOTHER tune up fight
