George groves next promoter?

Post by hurlock »

He recently stated with an interview with ifl tv that he needs a promoter & believes he was hinderd by the fact he never had one v froch.
He's put out such names
Big frank-to old in the tooth IMO the don king of British boxing
Eddie Hearn - would be pivotal in getting a rematch which if froch don't want, won't make a differance
Al hayman was mentioned who seems to make things happen & produces wealthy fighters.
Gbp they seem to fast track fighters or just make the big fights swim or sink scenarios & can't think of a fighter they have built.
Saureland seem to sell out shows & easily please there viewers with George facing mediocre opposition nicking a good crust but groves is far more ambitious imo

I think it will be GBP or Warren. He doesn't like Hearn and doesn't need to be under him to get the Froch fight. GBP want to do shows over here there's your ready made headliner. My money is on Frank though, they split on good terms and I think groves knows short and long term he needs to fighting over here to capitalise on the public feeling towards him at the minute

Warren is likely, but I think Groves will look for a deal that keeps his options open with regards to fights with Froch and Ward. If he doesn't get Froch next, I'd like to see him in with Stieglitz, I'd take him to win that one inside the distance, whether it be here or in Germany.

It would only be with Hearn if he promised a Froch re-match and we all know Froch doesn't want that, I reckon he'll sign back to Warren to continue the Matchroom exodus.

Haymon isnt a promoter mate, he's a manager. It wouldnt surprise me if he signed with Golden boy to be honest.

Haymon is a Manager who works with Promoter and networks, he has fighters on Showtime and HBO.
Yeah but he doesnt promote directly. He's an influential manager for sure.

I think GBP were in the background with Hayemaker Promotions. Could well be GBP.

Fr&nk allegedly suggested on Thursday he has another signing up his sleeve, which will be announced before the end of January. Possibly Groves?

Think you're misinformed.
Four options for Froch and he'll take Groves because that will get him his wish of fighting in Nottingham.

Really, Froch has come out an said he doesn't deserve a rematch and all that. He knows Groves has got his number and doesn't want to lose face by being beat by him. I so hope it does happen but what makes you so certain?

Sauceland
Conjures up images of Sid James and Barbara Windsor, miles away from boxing promotion.

I genuinely don't care about Kessler 3 or Ward 2. Would be happy with a Groves 2, Kov, GGG or Stevenson.
