Promoters drop Big Daddy & C'wealth title from April 3 show

For being disloyal & shopping around for challenger, instead of going ahead with what was initially agreed.

Haumona is not worthy of a title shot anyway.

He was stopped and lost every round (bar maybe 1/2) by Kevin Johnson, the only recent opponent of note on his record and against lorry driver/part-time boxer Joey Wilson he got a gift of a draw. That's 2 of his last 5 fights. Do you really think the Commonwealth title is below the Aussie title? Wow, taxi to the Off Topic section

Adding to initial post:-

One story is, Hatton wants Lucas fighting Tyson Fury on this card http://boxrec.com/show_display.php?show_id=683497. Fury is all for it, but his management want Lucas scoring another win before that can happen.

Promoters & Haumono's management are now preparing press release - detailing sequence of events.

Tyson Fury would have far too much for Browne, maybe cousin Hughie would be a better fight.

He's not, he's just a measuring stick for Haumona's Commonwealth title credentials

C'mon Tsmithy, you keyboard warrior, you. Make a hero of yourself so you can tell the family. And what is your contribution to boxing, may I ask, as mine is clearly keeping the OS section of a boxing forum active? C'mon hero, let's have you.

I really can't believe this is happening.

I am hoping to god that the promotor reads this. (By the way I am not a Audley Harrison nut job)
We have Audley Harrison waiting around a fight, reasons you should be contacting him -

1) Lucas and Audley exchanged messages through twitter a year ago both indicating that they would like a fight to be arranged, unfortunatley at the time Audley had taken and was training for the Wilder fight. Both guys want to get it on.

2) Audley would not minding coming here and has stated in the past that if the situation was right he would return to Australia has it holds great memories for him (2000 Gold Medalist).

3) Audley is hugely marketable, he really handles himself in a gentleman way and would create a massive buzz with the mainstream sporting press

4) Audley is still a name with British sporting fans, and it would generate a large following from us Poms

5) Audley is ranked high enough in the CW ratings for a shot

6) It would be a great fight to watch

Promotors of this event, there is your plan B. Now get in contact with Audley who has he is crying out for a comeback.

This is one view of the shenanigans:
http://www.BS.com/team-browne- ... ght--73659
but at least Fox will be able to salvage something from the 8 man tournament on 3rd April.

Haumono has promised so much in the past, and it is a long past, but has delivered so much inconsistancy in his sporadic ring appearnces.

Something like this card was scheduled a couple of years ago in Melbourne but it didn't get off the ground.
Now that Big Daddy is out wouldn't be surprised to see this card fall over too.

With a couple of exceptions some are inactive, some are borderline geriatrics and some are both.

Nathan Briggs 38yrs 1 fight in 5 years.
Brett Smith 38yrs 1 fight in 4 years
Andre Meunier 37yrs last fight 2009
Nathan MacKay ? yrs Dec 2013 lost KO3
Royce Sio 34yrs 3 fights in 7 years
Mick Kirby 38yrs last fight 2011

The trick would be getting 8 fit heavies to turn up on the night.
Will 10 weeks prep be enough ?
Could it be too much and they'll burn themselves out ?

How's the training going Rhino ?
The Voice seemed a bit miffed that I had suggested a 10 week camp might be a bit much for you old chaps.

I just heard that Neven Pajkic turned down an offer to meet Browne. He said the money was pathetic.
