Byrd would do a Jimmy Young on Lyle.
Speed and slickness always make it difficult on a puncher like Lyle, and Byrd would be no different.
A troublesome southpaw to boot.
He dismantled another big puncher in David Tua.
In a 12-rounder, Byrd wins about 8 or 9 rounds.

This makes sense, but I don't think I'd put Byrd's skills in the same category as Young's. I think Lyle could have done an Ike to Byrd inside of 5 rounds.

I think Pipino's logic is good but I go with John L.

I'd expect Ron to get his man but Byrd could win this. Competitive fight.

I'm with John. Ron Lyle could box as well as punch with serious force. I would expect him to get to Byrd at some point.
