Wow, this is the last guy I'd expect Booth to want to work with.

Thats because you know nothing about either of them.Riddick Blowe wrote:Wow, this is the last guy I'd expect Booth to want to work with.

The revolving door at Hayemaker gym is proving to be money well spent.

Good move imo. Vince had taken him as far as he could, but it's been clear for a while he needed a better, more experienced trainer. Good luck to him, hope he improves and gets another title shot.

Also Adam will be able to help him put on the weight properly moving up in weight.Newport Daz wrote:Good move imo. Vince had taken him as far as he could, but it's been clear for a while he needed a better, more experienced trainer. Good luck to him, hope he improves and gets another title shot.

Maybe he will start to work on developing a defence. Couldn't believe when he said in a post- Kovalev interview that they'd never really concentrated on defence in training. WTF? Didn't his team expect that somebody just might be trying to hit him back?

he hasn't concentrated on defence his entire career, i've watch him successfully block punches with his face many times
Re: Nathan Clev joins Adam Booth
Good choice by Nathan. I think Booth should keep him at light Heavy though and get him back to the top at that division. Make him box smarter.

Re: Nathan Clev joins Adam Booth
to small for CW imo he should learn some defensive skills and to puch properly instead of the slappy style he has. Glad hes got rid of his dilusional dad tho maybe now he can start to learn to box properly, not get smoke blo his arse every minute of every day. (something that will stick with me forever is his dad saying "your lateral movement is working well" in the kovalev fight when he looked very static relying on his "granite" chin ) GOOD LUCK NATHAN BE NICE TO SEE YOU BACK AT THE TOP
Re: Nathan Clev joins Adam Booth
Be interesting fly on the wall doc wouldn't it to see how they develop. I wonder if Adam and Nathan sit down and watch his last fight together and discuss what went wrong.

Awful move. Booth has had his success with explosive punchers with good movement and clever shot selection. To me Cleverly has none of those traits and at Cruiserweight has no chance of ever having them
Re: Nathan Clev joins Adam Booth
This was inevitable. Clev has been considering moving to Booth since May last year.
Re: Nathan Clev joins Adam Booth
Won’t make a difference Clev’s always been overrated.

Totally agree. Just hope his ego not too big to listen to some hard truths.TopGun wrote:Good choice by Nathan. I think Booth should keep him at light Heavy though and get him back to the top at that division. Make him box smarter.
Too small for a move up and still only a rough diamond in boxing terms.
Will be hard for a former world champion to go back to basics though.
If he looking at a move up in weight then maybe that indicates a lack of motivation ..

Re: Nathan Clev joins Adam Booth
i myself would think twice before joining up with booth , just because he seems have no worries dropping a fighter like george groves and david price , i expect them to work together for a few months then split.....

Good move for both.
I think it will work. They need to gel but having met Nathan, he's a good guy, and I think Adam will take him under his wing.
Good times ahead.
