Converted Southpaws(this IS on account of the Cooney post)

Post by zuru »

I read many years ago, that Greg Page, said that he was a converted southpaw.I recently read that DeLa Hoya was also a converted southpaw.I know that Boom Boom Mancini was. What other famous fighters were converted southpaws? How about what fighters were right-handed who converted to southpaw?I know there are a couple, but I can't remember who.

I had dinner with Henry last week.

He is left handed but has always led with his left, so I suppose he isnt strictly converted.

I remember Greg saying something about it in a Ring magazine interview back in '83 or '84, he was one of the few to switch very nicely.

I believe British middleweight KO artist Tony Sibson was also a converted southpaw.

Kalule should have fought orthodox, but his older brothers were southpaws, so Kalule thought that he had to fights like that, and it stuck.
