Paul smith
Ian Darke
Would be my choice, for me Jim Watt ruins the fight, he's so negative and repeats his statements far to often

If anyone has a bit too much spare time, just google "jim watt bingo". you're guaranteed a good laugh :TU:

There must be a Jim Watt drinking game, surely. :TU:

He's terrible. Absolute dog shit but sky don't listen. He used to be good but he's lost his interest in the sport, you can hear the difference between his stuff with reg gutteridge and his drab monotone moaning he does now.

It's not even funny anymore he actually ruins most fights including Froch Groves. Biased, boring drivel.

It was a terrible fight because Bute is finished and Pascal is a lazy Bast@rd.
Exactly.

I watched the HBO version live, and the SKY version later on video. I found Watt's commentary to be more fair and accurate than Max Kellerman's very biased commentary. Kellerman was commenting on how Bute wasn't throwing, but constantly praised Pascal, failing to point out that he wasn't doing much either.

It was indeed a terrible fight because Bute is shot and Pascal is shit.

I agree with the fact watts intrest is shot & as soon as he sees somthing he dislikes he just spends the whole fight whinging about it. I do feel sky let him no because at times I feel he tries to be positive on certain bouts to promote there fighters, like Stephen smiths last fight I think?? He was blaming the opponent then praised him for putting on a show!
Watt should be in the studio he's got plenty of knowledge & a great boxing brain & could provide great analistic views without droning out the commentary.
People mention smith who is very articulate, but I feel there's plenty
More & it should go to world champions or top trainers imo

Watt used to be the best at calling momentum swings and possible factors before anyone else had seen them.

He can get stuck on a point, agreed. But I still love the guy and think he's great when discussing upcoming fights in the studio.

Even Keith Moon in his prime couldn't have survived that.

Everyone is allowed to get it wrong from time to time so no big deal.

Saying 'Pucheeze' over and over though that's the real issue and I'm half scottish and it does my head in :surprised:

There have always been criticisms of Watt, remember on old ESB there used to be threads and threads on this - then Sky went back to using Glenn and Ian for the big ones and there was threads saying "where is Jim Watt, much better than McCory"... personally I think people now have a go before even giving him a chance.

His score card was out on the official one last weekend, but many people seemed to think the fight was closer than the official cards.

One of the only times I got pissed off with Watt was when he scored a fight in Italy, I think it was Colin Lynes EBU title fight with Branco when he kept saying "I think this is Lynes' round but we are in Italy so will have to score it for Branco".... should have scored it as he saw it.

People said all he did was praise Groves' work against Froch. - Few points.

1) Groves' work was worthy of praise.
2) Froch's work was subdued and slow by his recent standards, it needed saying.
3) He did acknowledge Froch's toughness and Groves' fatigue on many occasions.
4) How many times did he say "better from Froch".... a fair few, but as I said I think people almost start these threads before the fight starts.
