John Mcdermott
John Mcdermott
Anyone know why he doesn't fight very often. He had a good win against Skelton in his last outing....

Re: John Mcdermott
I could have swore he was due to have an English title defence against Ian Lewison on one of the Copperbox bills. Never happened tho and I don't remember any explanation coming out.
Not sure if Steve or Olivia Goodwin can shed any light on whether that fight as they (I believe) still represent Lewison.

Re: John Mcdermott
I guess he likes to periodise (sp ?) his weight and training so that he peaks a couple of times a year for a fight.TopGun wrote:Anyone know why he doesn't fight very often. He had a good win against Skelton in his last outing....
It would be difficult to maintain that condition all year round.

Yeah staying in good condition all year round would be daft for an athlete.bripez wrote:I guess he likes to periodise (sp ?) his weight and training so that he peaks a couple of times a year for a fight.TopGun wrote:Anyone know why he doesn't fight very often. Hahaha great shout.
His conditioning is embarrassing to the sport in my opinion.

Re: John Mcdermott
Hardly anyone could get in condition to do 12x3s even once a year. And I include a lot of pro boxers in this.
Re: John Mcdermott
I like how McDermott seems in interviews and on the television; he is an interesting person and he boxes far better than his physique would imply.
Re: John Mcdermott
He barely manages one fight a year. For some reason he doesn't want it I am sick of him we want fighters who fight this division needs to be moved on Mcdernott just slows everything down.
