But all of Wladimir's fights are the worst of all time.

I too am cynical about Haye. I wanted him to wim. He hurt Wlad twice, despite a low punch output. He should have rolled the dice and gone for it, but both men were terrified of being KOd by the other and it really isn't what you want to see from supposed heavyweight champions.

I think Wlad is relieved he got through the Haye fight, while Haye is doomed to dream about what-might-have-been for the rest of his life. What-might-have-been, and what is, i.e. more reality TV shows.
I dont think it was quite that simple. Haye in part had a low punch output because he knew that if he over commited he was very likely to get knocked out. The same goes for Wlad. It was a physical chess match with both waiting for the other to sneeze first so to speak.

I thought that horrible, misshapen mess Haye calls a toe was to blame?

Hayes complaint was he couldn't launch off his back foot but effortlessly ran on it all night rather then go flat footed & allow wlad on too him but that could of resulted in him being ko'd.
Wlad contained him stayed on top holding centre & I remember it being more cat & mouse. Haye seems to believe he is so marketable & brings an audience that he doesn't need to get into contention & he's right he knows the buisness, but with withdrawals & a career ending injury which seems to have been defied within two months is going to harm his plans as people will want to see if the hayemakers is100% & if he can still throw the hayemaker otherwise it will be a stinker & I don't think companies or fans want to risk 1 hr of there life to be ripped off

He certainly hurt him in the 12th. In an early round, I believe the 3rd, Haye cracks him with a right hand and has him clinging on.

Haye can hit, Wladimir cannot take a punch. Wladimir is a big hitter too, but his power is rendered useless when the opponent is nimble, fit, can move around (Haye, Ibragimov). He kept Haye at bay and escaped with his belts. Haye should have gone for it, he didn't, his business to brood over the rest of his life.
Wlad didn't look remotely hurt in the third.

You say that Wlad's power is rendered useless when opponents are nimble, fit, and move around, but if Haye went for it like you wanted him to he''d have to stop moving away and actually attack, leaving himself more open and susceptible to Wlad's power than he was during the bout.

agreed, Lord Jim! I don't watch wlad's fights any more. Thompson 1 was wretched, when he held then they toppled and he landed on Thompson's leg, injuring him unfit to fight.

I also blame wlad to a degree, no doubt. he did seem stressed out vs haye with all the build up and he wanted to face jm mormeck in the next fight, so he clearly needed a break. he seemed more bothered about throwing haye to the floor than punching. and the povetkin fight, wlad's other big defining fight, was even worse with the headlocks...boxing won't become a proper mainstream sport until the big names - the PPV draws (mayweather), the history makers (Hopkins), the heavyweight champs (wlad) - actually get in punch exchanges. I know it's easy to say haye should be trading with a big guy, but he chose heavyweight. these guys make boxing seem to either tame, one dimensional or just unengaging solo performances. referees and rules meetings need to be more stringent on these matters. looks at the entertainment value of wlad against, say, a good peter aerts muay thai battle. boxing has fewer tools/weapons so more variety and offensive skills need to be applied.

1) I'm guessing at the 3rd. I am not wasting a second of my life rewatching that dross.

2) Yes, more dangerous for Haye to attack, but greatly increases his chance of knocking out Wlad. You have to rattle Wlad, pressure him, you have to do what Brewster did, a smaller man than Haye (but much fatter). You can say 'well Haye's hardly going to put himself in danger', but, very simply, he is a boxer challenging for the heavyweight title against a man much taller, and who flees backwards everytime you throw your one or one-two. So if you really want to win you must go for it. Brewster really wanted to win and smashed Wlad to pieces. Haye really wanted to not get knocked out and blame his little toe.

Aye, Wlad's pitiful noncombative style I suppose is to be expected with his multiple knockout losses and 12 or so knockdowns. It's more offensive with Haye because he is a proven fighting man, can come through a firefight, quick & fast with knockout power.

I don't think the Klits will ever give him a chance to redeem himself & he will have to live with his non-challenge.

Can some billionaire boxing nut magically replenish Lamon Brewster using stem cell research or something?

getting knocked out is no shame. taking a risk would've increased haye's chance of scoring a KO. haye was in a bubble of fake confidence and he seemed to get a taste of reality when that crowd of brits started getting nasty during his ring walk. his image of how everything would go jarred with the reality of the situation.

kind of like holyfield who convinced himself he'd KO lewis in 3. went for it in the 3rd then produced sod all rest of the fight.

I had a solution a few years ago. promoters sauerland and (then) universum poached all the European heavyweight talent. some aggressive, some heavy hitting. i'd've sent one in after the other, hit the K2s anywhere, shoulders and hips even if they couldn't land anything significant to head and body. helenius, boytsov, valuev, dimitrenko, pulev especially. these guys should've been kept lean, hungry and busy - rather than soft on easy paydays to protect TV deals. the big euro promoters neglected the bigger picture and have enabled wlad and vitali to be almost unscathed through lengthy title reigns. the timidity is unforgivable but as long as german fans cheer for this watered down garbage it'll continue.

I'm still laughing my ass off from this post.

"All of Wladimir's fights are the worst of all time", shit you must be forgetting "Huggy Bear" John Ruiz and "Powder Puff" Chris Byrd's fights. Then again, I can see where someone can have selective memory, and try and block out the horrors of those two's matches.

Btw, are you sure you watched the Haye/Klitschko fight? I don't recall Wladimir ever being hurt, not once in the entire twelve round fight. And I dont really see anywhere that can say that Klitschko was terrified of being hit by Haye--- because that's how Klitschko fights all the time; and besides one side of his face was practically a bruise from Haye landing those overhand rights. So, scared? Nah. Just typical Klitschko just being Klitschko: calm, poised, safety first-style.

I watched it again last night and although it was a fairly drab spectacle Povetkin/Wlad was utter garbage compared. Not bothered about ever seeing a rematch though Haye would always struggle with the size, reach and mobility of Wlad.
I still would like to see Haye vs Fury though or Haye vs Wilder would be a nice shoot out too
