In his prime it's hard to imagine anyone beating Starling easily. He was a very unorthodoxfighter with very good defensive skills and a solid chin. No way he beats Hearns, but I would see a competitive fight with Hearns winning a comfortable 15UD.

In a bout between these two, I see Hearns building up a big lead, but never really hurting Starling. Hearns would score with his jab, but Starling would block and slip more than he'd be hit with. Hearns was always looking for the knockout and against Starling that would be his fatal mistake. I think the Hitman would win a clear cut decision over 10 rounds, and probably survive a late pounding to win over 12, but in a 15 rounder, Hearns would fall into a trap with no escape when he tries to finish off the Magic Man. He'd find out just how strong and durable he is, when Starling starts nailing him back in the toe to toe exchanges. Marlon Starling TKO 14 or 15.

When they sparred for the Hearns fight, Marlon more than held his own with Tommy. In the real deal, I think Marlon's skills will allow him to last the distance, but Hearns wins on a unanimous decision.

This is no contest. I was a big Starling fan but he gets easily outboxed by prime Hearns.
