Groves v froch not happening
As much as I respect froch and understand him wanting too fight in Las Vegas this is a complete shame this isn't happening .
I don't agree he should swerve groves first , if he was that confident you would beat groves then Chavez
But we all know groves could beat him next time out

I could pull Kelly Brook but that don't mean it would happen eh.1 nut wrote:As much as I respect froch and understand him wanting too fight in Las Vegas this is a complete shame this isn't happening .

Im told Hearn and Froch arent actually on speaking terms due to all the Groves business
Re: Groves v froch not happening
Sadly a rematch would be a borefest.

If true, I can see rival promoter Fwank pleading to the heavens and screaming himself hoarse, hoping for big name fighters to get cheesed off with Eddie...damianhucker1 wrote:Im told Hearn and Froch arent actually on speaking terms due to all the Groves business
please god let it begin. let it begin !!!!!!!!!!

Re: Groves v froch not happening
There has to be some serious money on in a Froch v Groves rematch at Wembley stadium surely Carl would jump at the chance unless he isn't confidence.
Re: Groves v froch not happening
I have a feeling that is a big part of it. I picked Froch to win the first fight and I think he could win the rematch. However even if Froch was to win, I think he knows it would be a bloody hard fight and he'd rather take on Chavez for big money and in probability *depending on what Chavez turns up* a relatively easy fight.pyenest77 wrote:There has to be some serious money on in a Froch v Groves rematch at Wembley stadium surely Carl would jump at the chance unless he isn't confidence.
Re: Groves v froch not happening
Too much in the rematch for it not to happen.

Froch really didnt sound keen on sky sports news today though.leforge wrote:Too much in the rematch for it not to happen.

Re: Groves v froch not happening
On tonight's Ringside you could see that Froch's had enough of hearing the name George Groves to last a lifetime. He said he would find it extremely difficult to get up to fight Groves again. Who can blame him? Even today on S Sports News you've got Groves on there saying 'rematch or retire, Froch has no options'. It's George short of options.
As for Carl and Eddie on unfriendly terms? Barry is looking for the big money rematch, regardless of what Froch wants, probably down to that. I think the whole event is getting messy and something Froch wants to move on from, I bet he's wishing he'd never had the fight in the first place!

Groves would do well to maybe stop goading Froch - because i think he risks Froch blowing it out just to piss him off.ScottDetonator wrote:On tonight's Ringside you could see that Froch's had enough of hearing the name George Groves to last a lifetime. I think Froch doesn't really need the money, no matter how lucrative it is, and with the prospect of bowing out in Vegas looming, easy for Carl to justify it to himself.
Why put money in the pocket of someone he sees as being disrespectful, when you've already got the win.
I'm not sure this will happen now.

The most money is the rematch for all parties it happen.columbo wrote:Froch really didnt sound keen on sky sports news today though.leforge wrote:Too much in the rematch for it not to happen.
Re: Groves v froch not happening
I agree. Groves's approach to getting the rematch has been all wrong. Some guys would instantly say lets make the fight happen to shut his mouth but Froch is more sensitive and this goading is having the opposite effect.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Groves would do well to maybe stop goading Froch - because i think he risks Froch blowing it out just to piss him off.ScottDetonator wrote:On tonight's Ringside you could see that Froch's had enough of hearing the name George Groves to last a lifetime. The "will he, won't he" debate just makes the fight bigger IMO. Biggest British fight EVER.

Re: Groves v froch not happening
Only if the fight actually happens.
Groves could miss out on a huge payday here - I'll bet he's looking for way more money that Carl is willing to concede.
If Carl pissed off to Vegas to fight Chavez Jr, Groves is going to be rather gutted. Where does that leave him?

Re: Groves v froch not happening
Seems everyone wants it to happen bar Froch. He's doing some serious damage to his legacy by swerving it.
Re: Groves v froch not happening
After the events of the first fight they'll likely spend the night throwing single shots, neither fighter willing to commit.jessi wrote:???banjo wrote:Sadly a rematch would be a borefest.

Lots of fights for George out there, Ward, Degale, Bika, Dirrell, Pascal.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Only if the fight actually happens.

Re: Groves v froch not happening
Big money fights? Pascal is up at 175 now last time I checked, Ward is a hometown fight, and not big box office, and a certain loss for groves. Bika, again, how is that a big money fight. Degale isn't a big fight either, he's already beaten him, and he's not exactly set the world on fire since the loss to groves.banjo wrote:Lots of fights for George out there, Ward, Degale, Bika, Dirrell, Pascal.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Only if the fight actually happens.

Not a single one of those fights gets the pulse rising.
Re: Groves v froch not happening
They're fights that he will get money from, it's not like he's left with nowhere to go.
"and a certain loss for groves"
If Groves thought like that he may as well retire, the only thing certain in life is that it ends.

Re: Groves v froch not happening
I,m in the minority here but i would like to see Froch fight in Vegas next,IMO Chavez Jr would be a fairly convincing win for Carl and a win would hopefully make way for his swansong next year
If i could right a dream diary from Froch,s point of view it would be
JCC in Las Vegas
Groves rematch at Wembley
And finally Golovkin in Vegas for his farewell
Although i cant wait to see the GG rematch,i dont mind Froch going to US first,GG is a risky fight for obvious reasons and Carl deserves the chance to defend his world titles in States before he retires and as i said above,i reckon Froch beats Chavez Jr comfy so win that fight hopefully then the Groves rematch
I know Carls acted like an arse in the Groves debacle but when he does finally does hang up his gloves i,ll choose to remember all the great nights he,s gave me
I cant believe some so called boxing fans can question Froch,s balls for not giving George a rematch
IMO Froch has one of the biggest set in British boxing history
That is all
