Re: Joe Gallagher take a bow!!
Slates British boxing to the hilt, then talks about all these British champions he has , funny but kinda contradicts himself,
Some of that gym have gone out there and now think there to big for British boxing,

joe may not be everyone's cup of tea but results don't lie
Re: Joe Gallagher take a bow!!
I think fighters make the trainers a lot of the time vs the other way round.

Quite like his arrogance,
Is he a handy chap? Presents as being very confident !!

He s got a great training plan and it's workin good luck to him he s a great all round guy keep the champions coming joe
Re: Joe Gallagher take a bow!!
I have seen interviews and comments from him that I haven't liked and also seen others that I do.
He definitely loves his boxing and his fighters, fair play to him. Over there for a few weeks and he has already started pimping freddie roach out for pad sessions. lol![[icon_notworthy.gif]](./images/smilies/icon_notworthy.gif)

Like him or hate him he is getting his fighters to the next level. He is also improving himself. I think he is probably the best trainer in the UK now. He is also spot on about the politics here
Re: Joe Gallagher take a bow!!
Spot on about the politics but its a harder thing to control in the UK as its smaller scale than the states. Im not saying that its correct but I'm also not believing for a minute that the americans are doing everything right when they can't deliver a Mayweather v Pacquiao fight.
I understand that he is talking from a fighters point of view for sparring etc and not about actual fights being made but I'm also quite confident that all won't be as perfect over there as he is making out.

Good interview - although when he went on about "it's about the boxers, not the trainers" and trainers "leaving their ego's at the door" etc. there was a serious irony overload !
He is a bit of an Enzo - he likes to talk abut his boxers success but always manages to turn it round so that he is effectively complementing himself !

Re: Joe Gallagher take a bow!!
Very good insightful interview, we'll see if the time spent over there works, big year for Gallagher's gym.

The fact everyone wears 'Gallagher's' t shirts doesn't exactly scream humility either!bripez wrote:Good interview - although when he went on about "it's about the boxers, not the trainers" and trainers "leaving their ego's at the door" etc. there was a serious irony overload !

Enjoyed that interview, it seemed Gallagher was In his element & got abit kevin & perry there saying he don't want to come home ha!
It's great for his lads to get that sparring but I don't think fighters are good when they are in a group because they'd want to enjoy themselfs

Think ya way off the mark there hurlock there a team in the gym so going away there a team and if one went prob wouldn't be fun and enjoyable like the trip was meant to be mate or can I call you mate ?

Re: Joe Gallagher take a bow!!
There's obviously two ways to look at it, a group could engage in a bit to much carry on, were as a sole fighter may focus solely on the fight he's training for.

We are brothers not mates!! Ain't the only enjoyable bit of the sport the winning tear up?tear up wrote:Think ya way off the mark there hurlock there a team in the gym so going away there a team and if one went prob wouldn't be fun and enjoyable like the trip was meant to be mate or can I call you mate ?
I think it would be a great trip & they probably are all very professional & it looks a great trip but with fellow lads once that excitement kicks in & you bump into famous people see abit of eye candy down the beach you get excited & may want to make it pleasure rather then buisness.
