Jackie Brown World’s Flyweight Champion

Post by enid »

I have seen on the website a book written about Jackie Brown but I can’t find it again. Can anyone tell me the title of the book and whether it is still available? Thanks.

I am in the process of putting together information for an article about “Mehro” the pen-name of Enid Barber who is now aged 90yrs old. She was one of England’s 1931 – 56, and Scotland’s 1946-56 only female boxing historian and critic at the ringside. (It is possible she was the only one for England but I can’t confirm that yet) She was and still is a remarkable lady but sadly time had taken the edge off her memory.

I'm pretty certain the Jackie Brown biography is called "The man, the myth, the legend" by Brian Hughes.

I doubt this book is available in the mainstream, you'll need to look to the specialist sellers.

Looking forward to Brian's next book on Howard Winstone, which can't be too far away.

Best of luck with the article. Which publication are you writing it for?
