The IBF have ordered the fight but maybe Carl will vacate.
Yeah but,no but, froch has two titles & that would mean groves would have to face who ever for the vacant title which wouldn't gross a lot prob 5 figures maybe abit more now froch has made him famous.

Froch has said the curtain is coming down & there's boxes he wants to tick & if the brat is snubbing purses he will rightly move on! I want to see the return but groves is being a cock IMO.
What's groves trading on, goading Carl on ill face anyone trait & it seems Carl does seem it's his duty & could see on ringside he was repeating this.
Calzaghe never gave anyone a second chance even Reid who he won a hairline decision in a cracker & wonders why fans don't hold him in the same esteem as benn & Eubanks taking on a shot jones rather then a young contender & look st the praise he now recieves
Joe gave Viet a second chance!

I'm suprised with the support groves is getting after snubbing a return IMO I wouldn't blame if froch says hashtag take it or leave it rodders

& look at the career & journey froch has had
Groves also gave Froch the worst beating of his career. He will make sure in the rematch.

The IBF was dropped by Calzaghe. Since then its been held by various "paper champs" and never by the number one man in the division.

If we are being harsh, then any belt owned by Ward is the REAL belt. All the rest are making up the numbers.

Fighters make the belt, not the other way round.

Don't think anyone can say with any conviction who is avoiding who or being unreasonable without seeing the small print on whatever Groves was offered in black and white. I'd defo like to see a return and think the added experience of the first fight would give George a much bigger chance in the return.

Groves case and sympathy has clearly disappeared if he's turning down a title shot and a million pound payday. He's got what he's been asking for and now he's turned it down :witzend:

Irrespective of what George thinks the result of the last fight should have been, he is still the challenger. It looks like George is just playing hardball in the negotiation and I still believe he wants the fight, so I'm praying he's not going to rob the fans of this fight for the sake of his ego.

Take the fight and make the the massive money when you've got the title FFS

Chambers, Groves does not like the OPTIONS Matchroom put int the contract.

I would imagine Groves would have taken the £1M plus options is the IBF found against him.

FOR ALL WE KNOW THE OPTIONS MAY HAVE READ.
1) GG GETS £500k FOR HIS NEXT FIGHT IF HE WINS.
2) GG IS TIED TO MATCHROOM FOR 5 FIGHTS.

We do not know, but I think we all know Froch doesn't really want it.

I think we all know you are a banned troll who nobody likes and it's only a matter of time before you start sending spam PMs to folk in your desperation to be accepted. Now piss off.

Which may be difficult if he's stitched up with options with Matchroom - some of the options could be purse stipulations; Groves will do what's best for his career and if that's not signing himself to Matchroom for however many fights who are we to judge? Hayman could make him massive in the US with his contacts, if Groves wins v Froch then he could do very well by keeping his options open.

I share your view chambers, but this is boxing business 101.

There are always options when a fight is generally made outside of mandatory sealed purse bids.

Perhaps in the interest of fairness, if it went against Froch amidst debatable circumstances - the rematch clause would then be a safety net to Matchroom boxing and their fighter.

Froch signed up for it when he fought Bute and also when he fought Kessler.

Groves better get damn used to that if he fancies going it alone with neither a manager or a promoter - you can't always have your cake and eat it.

Froch got massive criticsm when Hennessy did the Abraham fight on a handshake and it fell through, so it does happen. And contracts take any ambiguity out of it.

There's a lot of sense in your post Gomez and there's more than enough ambiguity in contracts to keep lawyers living pretty well in the High Court; maybe it's better to sign a contract you're happy with than one you're not?

How has groves managed to get the ibf to enforce such militant action??? It wasn't that controversial!! I've seen far worst. I sense George could of had a meet with al hayman this man pulls strings & makes things happen.
Froch would be far better off boxing on his own shores & groves needs to widen up do a deal with eddy because if he loses overseas intrest will drop him like a weight

Hearn has strength in the British market; Hayman is on another level altogether - he'd get Groves to big heights far faster than any British promoter.

Yeah that's fair enough, but it all depends on what the options are that Eddie is asking for. If it's just a rematch clause (if Groves wins) then fair enough, if Eddie wants a say in Groves's future over a longer period then it's Eddie at fault IMO.

I just hope it's not going to be one of those negotiations that ends up in a load of people pointing a finger and no fight at the end of it (I'm optimistic the fight will get signed though).

Arsenal's Emirates Stadium has emerged as a potential venue for a rematch between Carl Froch and George Groves, with the Times reporting that May 31 has been earmarked for the bout.

The pair still need to agree a share of the purse for the fight, after Froch retained his IBF and WBA super-middleweight titles with a controversial ninth-round stoppage of Groves. Referee Howard Foster was widely criticised for what was seen as a premature intervention, with the IBF eventually coming to the same conclusion two months later and ordering a rematch on Friday following an appeal by Groves.

The decision forces Froch to face Groves for his next fight or be stripped of his IBF title. However the IBF's ruling only guarantees challenger Groves 15 percent of the purse, less than he has already been offered.

OOOPS !! :o :o

I would guess that there's nothing to stop someone bidding for it, then paying Groves more than the specified amount, however unlikely that may be.
