If it doesn't get agreed and it does go to open bids and someone else puts an outlandish offer in for it, the fight doesn't happen and the bid gets cancelled.

A negotiation period is then set between the 2 chosen fighters that will contest it, and if no agreement reached, then new bids are then set for a fight for the vacant IBF title for George vs Sartison/Ndiaye etc.

If he see's this as leverage then he's going to use it!!! If He keeps refusing Hearns offers then purse bids it is!! I'm sure the IBF will have created a deadline for the rematch to be agreed before it goes to purse bids!!

My feeling is Hearn will make an acceptable bid before that happens although I have a sneaky suspicion that Groves is at the mind games again!!

Purse bids can backfire for groves though
.
If he loses money that may not be the main thing on his mind; he may not like been seen as a negotiating push over - that'll play dividends in the future I'd have thought if he can keep his options open - boxing is changing and maybe some boxers would prefer not to be tied to one promoter or be a promoters employee -it works for some and not for others; Groves is young and will know his own mind and have plenty of experienced and qualified people around him; on another note, Hearn is a friend of Froch - why would Groves want to be saddled with him?

Some good opinions in this thread. Would love for Frank to put in a bid, that would make some god talking points. Why would Froch turn down a massive pay day even if it was on allegedly. Surely he wouldn't be that stupid. Frank would have to bid very high.

If it goes to Purse bids then Eddie has to bid. But I think Froch is scared of GG and Eddie knows it.
Froch might vacate, but Eddie will NOT be pleased.
Honestly? give over mate.....

Methinks Handsome Eddie will have to seriously cough up some more money to make it happen either in the negotiations on the purse bids otherwise he and Matchroom will look like idiots if the starman of the stable is made to vacate and if allegedly gets involved it might complicated considering the supposed bad blood between them.

To say Froch is scared, is...well, silly really.

I don't imagine Froch is afraid of anyone around his weight; Groves is a very serious threat to him and he was utterly dismissive of Groves before the first fight - that very nearly bit him on the arse. Chavez Jnr would be a far easier fight than Groves again.

For all the disagreement and tittle tattle this ought to be a fantastic fight again.

He would turn it down purely to spite Warren, I don't get the feeling the two are fans of each other and he's bezzie mates with Eddie, so he won't want to lose him money either.

Hearn basicly said in his ifilm interview with Kugen if it drags on to purse bids it proberly won`t happen.Hearn will not let it go to purse bids and risk losing control of the fight.Froch isn`t that happy with having to fight Groves again and having another promoter getting involved would just piss him off even more and who knows what the tv situation would end up being. The fight will either be made this week or fall apart with Froch vacating then signing to fight Chavez.I personly think Groves will accept a much improved offer in the next couple of days and this fight will happen.
