Ricky Hatton is intent on proving himself to be the best light-welterweight in the world - and will even step up in weight to prove it!
Hatton, who added the WBA belt to his IBF title with victory over Carlos Maussa on Saturday night, will not rest until he has taken on WBO champ Miguel Cotto and WBC holder Floyd Mayweather.

The Mancunian knows both fights will be big box office events and believes they will join the pantheon of great match-ups, whoever emerges victorious.

"If anybody is going to beat Floyd Mayweather it's me - I think I've got the style to do it," he told Sky Sports News. "But likewise if anyone's going to beat Ricky Hatton, Mayweather's got the style to do it.

"It's a real pick 'em fight - those Hagler-Hearns, Leonard-Duran fights are the ones you dream of having."

Cotto beat Maussa in eight rounds two years ago, but was unable to match Hatton's spectacular ending at the weekend, when he floored the Colombian with a left hook.

"Cotto didn't knock him out like I did, he beat him on cuts, so it was a big thing for me and a big plus," Hatton added. "If they move up in weight I'll follow them as those are the fights I want.

"I beat the number one in the division (Kostya Tszyu) but in Cotto and Mayweather you've got two of the best pound-for-pounders in boxing."

All the post-fight talk on Saturday was of Hatton defending his titles against Arturo Gatti, who lost to Mayweather in a WBC title challenge earlier this year, and Hatton would be happy to take on the Canadian.

"I've always been a Gatti fan - anyone who isn't, isn't really a boxing fan," said Hatton. "He's in so many fantastic fights.
