Brook v Gavin
Re: Brook v Gavin
I'd love this fight to happen, it would ask questions of both fighters i think, and its a great match up.
I met Frankie in Leeds at the hotel after the Direct Arena show in December and he was a thoroughly nice fella, had time for a chat and some photo's etc.
Really hope he pushes on now and i'd like to see him do well

Re: Brook v Gavin
I think it would be a good fight but think Kell would have to much for Gavin.
Gavin has good shot selection and timing. But I also think Kell has a great and powerful jab and his accuracy and timing are also spot on.
Think Kell would be naturally bigger in the ring also which would be an advantage.
If both 100% Kell wins late stoppage/points.

Re: Brook v Gavin
Gavin needs to excite that's his problem. Talented as he is, he doesn't go out and get stuck in, he pot shots and prods and pokes and just goes through the motions.
Alright calling out Khan and Brook and the likes, but at least do the business on someone so you bring something to the table, instead of just putting the rounds in the bank like he did against ageing stand-in Bradley Pryce in his last outing. He should have gone out there and stood him on his head.
Needs to up the ante and show how good he really is. His world gold medal seems a hell of a long time ago now!

He has been attempting to book an appointment with his ringpiece for the last 3 years, without success.columbo wrote:You wouldnt have anything to do with Kell by any chance? ......los2 wrote:some guys need to lay off the crackpipe.....if little frankie gets in a ring with kell he gets ktfo....

Re: Brook v Gavin
Frankie is going no where at all! Did he not win the WBO intercontinental belt! that was stripped from brook 3 year ago ,
for all his promoters Bile about Brook would be world champ by now if he stayed with him!! Why isn't Frankie world champ then!! simple he isn't good enough no power he is boring and fails to impress every time British level at best.

I know I am older but I am 12 fights behind brook been pro a lot less longer. An I'm not sure how much longer he will be at the weight. But I think he will struggle with 12 rounds now 10.7! But hopefully we find out before goes up. I am getting closer to a shot an hopefully will get one this year.

To be fair, you're not that much older than Kell. He's been a pro since 2004 aswell.Frankie Gavin wrote:I know I am older but I am 12 fights behind brook been pro a lot less longer. Brook would win this comfortably. Also Brook loses to Porter.

Khan as he is the bigger name an anything can happen with khan. But Kell really struggles with 147 so gonna catch up with him sooner or later.

Frankie, If Thurman fights Porter next and wins, do you think Brook would fancy that fight.Frankie Gavin wrote:Khan as he is the bigger name an anything can happen with khan. But Kell really struggles with 147 so gonna catch up with him sooner or later.

Frankie - are you happy with how you have been matched thus far.
I'm just curious if you get a bit frustrated by it all or whether you are exactly where you wanted to be?

Re: Brook v Gavin
He just re-signed with Fwank so he must be happy. His career seems to be stalling, and the opponent-picking is woeful. Frankie deserves to be handled better. It's time they invested in the opposition and brought somebody over like Zab Judah. In 3 weeks time, providing Skeete wins, Bradley Skeete will have a better scalp on his record (Vivian Harris) than anyone on Gavin's. Why are they bringing over a former world champ for Skeete, who's only just gone up to English title level, yet they keep getting re-treads for Frankie ?DMA1987 wrote:Frankie - are you happy with how you have been matched thus far.

Would like to see this at some stage, but would like to see a major title on the line, at this stage I would go for Brook just, but Frankie is an excellent boxer and is hard to hit clean. Think both could win a world title.

Kell is more like a middleweight on the night.
