"Right now the IBF have ordered the rematch to take place, they have ordered a 85-15 split and George Groves has now appealed that split." said Eddie Hearn to TalkSport.

Which I guess suggests that this might not have turned out quite how Groves wanted it to?

no, Groves just taking steps to give himself a stronger negotiating position. Hence why Eddie Hearn now trying to rush through a deal again, just as he tried to do before Groves got the appeal result back.

"He isn’t chasing Carl Froch for a pay day, he is chasing the rematch and Carl Froch just happens to be the opponent." Paddy Fitzpatrick to the Swindon Advertiser.

“Eddie Hearn wants the fight, Sky want the fight, it’s only ever been Carl Froch who doesn’t want the fight.

“George can now sit down, relax and read the paperwork. Whether Carl Froch agrees to the fight or not, one thing is for sure George Groves will fight for a world title.”

Can only think he didn't know the ruling either that or he assumed he would be inserted as mandatory which would entitle him to 25% as far I know the IBF have granted the rematch but turned down his appeal to be made mandatory. Groves and Froch both want this fight and it definitely is about money despite what paddy Fitzpatrick is saying there

It was ruled that Groves has to pay Adam Booth 25% of his future earnings until 2015, Groves lost the court case before the Froch fight. So he will lose a quarter of whatever 15% works out to be, no wonder he is contesting it.

Well done George Groves.
Forgive my maths but isn't 25% of nothing the best part of fcuk all?

Think the original Matchroom offer would have had rematch clause which was 25%.

So he will earn around 1.2 million but Booth gets 25% of that :yay: easy work for him there getting best part of 250k for sitting back and watching the fight.

Big B- Groves and Booth have parted now and settled-up.

Personally, I hope Groves gets whatever he wants (within fairness) and the fight gets made.

So far it's obstacle after obstacle on his part - and it's about money.

Froch has said nothing since he left the arena, whilst Groves has recruited everyone he knows to hurl abuse at him on twitter, youtube and generally acted a complete fool. Now the appeal has come back from the IBF, he then launches yet another for more %.

He's close to getting the finger and Feb 4th is D-day or it's over. He needs to sort his act out and sign up for the fight or silence forever.

For someone who's so keen he seems to be putting obstacles in the way , he wanted it , he got it , now he should just get on with it .

IF he wins and thats a big if. then he can set the rules

Gomez, serious question mate, from what you've heard from Carl, does he fancy the rematch? I know he wants JCC if possible but does he feel he can right the wrong of the first fight? Atleast in terms of the performance. I genuinely get the feeling that he wasnt 100% at the races in that fight. I remember seeing an interview of his on the night of the fight and he had huge bags under his eyes and looked exhausted! I remember him saying that there had been a party in one of the rooms down the way from his and that cant of been ideal. There's no doubt that George performed brilliantly, but im not convinced that was Carl at his best.

However we look at it, Groves wins this pre-fight battle a lot more than Froch. Froch doesn't really wanna fight Groves, he wants to go to Vegas and take on JCC Jr and a lost to Groves probably stops that altogether (Groves wins). IBF have forced the rematch despite Groves losing (Groves wins). If Froch decides to drop his belt to take on JCC, he loses his only credible belt and Groves fights for the vacant belt (Groves wins). Froch is pissed off he has to take on a man he's just beat... Groves gets two title fights in under a year (Groves wins)

The only way Froch wins this is by convincingly in the rematch. Until then, Groves is laughing and Froch is pissed

Froch has said nothing. He hasn't engaged in any battle.

His promoter has tabled the offers and Groves has spat on them, then launches an appeal to the IBF and goes screaming to the press that accepting a £1,000,000 + offer is actually "Selling his sole"

"Fighting for a world title was my main priority. I didn't want to surrender my soul for it, and I now have the option of deciding from multiple promoters."

The more I read of his comments to twitter and the press, that he is actually looking at worming his way out of the fight. He is deliberately stalling to get other promoters involved, to force Froch to relinquish the IBF title.

Only a complete and utter idiot goes around trying to blacken Sky / Hearn's attempts to make the fight .... when you do nothing to actually make the fight happening yourself , unless you DONT want to make the fight.

Infact, he is trying every little stalling move he can to prevent a deal being reached. The fact he is saying he wants the option of deciding from "multiple promoters" is a clear sign he doesn't want to fight Carl Froch again.

Groves doesn't want the fight, he wants to pick up the vacant title.

Why is it done like this? Surely in a sane world it's easier to say "winner gets 75%, loser gets 25%, draw both get 50%" it's not difficult.

I thought you can't have options on a mandatory defence.

Hearn won`t let it go to purse bids and risk losing out on the fight to another promoter who would then have control of the promotion and tv rights. The deal will either be made this week all fall apart and Hearns offer with options has been turned down and any new offer now that the IBF have ordered the fight will be without options so that is now irrelevant in this next phase of talks.

Exactly. And that's why GG wanted the immediate rematch AND to be mandatory.

Smart boy is GG.
the ratings are a joke ,how can the IBF just leave the no1 and no2 spots vacant that makes no sense to me.

hearn can still go to bids and win

as i said previously... FW will win this... Froch will vacate, citing none payment worries

but he could get it in escroe like GG does on FW bills

Nice try mate but you are clutching at straws. Your are clearly biased and appear to have lost all sense of objectivity.

Perhaps your selective hearing choose to ignore Groves when he explained his reasons for turning down Hearns offer. Stipulations, options, those were the problem. Most fans reactions to the latest run of events applaud Groves for his handling of the situation.

PS Frochs reluctance is far more apparant than Groves no matter what way you try to spin it. Your latest try only results in making Froch look even more reluctant.

Well said Ali, Groves obviously wants the fight and wants the best deal he can get for himself - he's not happy to play 2nd fiddle to Froch and doesn't have to dance to his tune. It's negotiation and Groves has a team looking for his best interests and Froch has a team looking for his. The fight is very big and there'll be a lot of money made; the IBF ruling vindicated Groves (and many viewers and fans) position that the stoppage was premature and less than fair.

Froch needs to talk up & stop acting coy around groves!!!
Take it or leave it should be frochs message!!

What groves has to realise is frochs next fight will be a good earner wether George is in the opposite corner or not, the same can't be said for George. He's fortunate to get Offerd the return
