I don't agree with this. Duran didn't let him move in the first fight. He closed the distance between them quicker than leonard had ever experienced before which is why he gets caught with the left hook in the 2nd.

In the rematch Ray didn't win because he moved. Leonard would have won that fight if he'd have gone toe-to-toe, in fact if he had have done he might well have worn Duran down and stopped him. Ray was ready for Duran in the rematch.

hitman pummels with right hand all the way until the 5th dropping duran 2 times in the 3rd and once in the 5th for the count

Duran would be tougher might but some good shots

but hearns has his number he would lead in score cards at time of stoppage
this would be on of the biggest examples of styles makes fights.

I totally agree with you Ezzard. I also bleive that Sugar ray would have won that second fight even if he stand toe to toe with Duran that night. Duran just simply did not have it. Ray colud have KOd him silly if the fight continued. I think Duran knew he was going to lose the fight and he tried a way to get out of it nad did it his way by saying NO MAS. As I watch the replay in the 25th anniversary of the fight, Duran LOST THE FIGHT BEFORE THE OPENING BELL...Something just was not there for him. He looked lost and baffled compared in that night in Montreal 5 months earlier.

Although Hearns wasn't as good at 147 as he was at 154, he was still a killer.

Duran would be KO'ed within 8 rounds.

Hearns KO 6 Duran
