wonder if they've ever fought each other....I don't think they have. Wonder if that's where this is leading. McCall's another one who doesn't seem interested in stopping. I've got a feeling guys like Holyfield and McCall literally know nothing about other work, aside from boxing. It's not great is it - when you've already scaled the mountain once..

Danny is gonna end up brain dead if continues this. I read somewhere it's because his kids are in a private school and the fee's are really high. It's all well and good getting a top education for your kids but im sure they'd rather have their old man around when they get older with some kind of brain function. This shit shouldnt be allowed.

was McCall off his nut on drugs when he started crying in the ring? Because to me, he doesn't look like the sort of guy that would be scared by much...

I don't know what's more sad, these two still fighting in their 40's or Holyfield reduced to appearing on Big Brother.
The fact that Big Brother exists is probably one of the saddest things of all time. Why would anybody watch it?

Did you read that in print media or on a boxing forum? I'm genuinely interested. If Williams's kids are in private school and his ring trevails are funding it then I applaud him. He's a smart man. You think some kids from Brixton are going to go far through the normal schooling system? He knows he is good for nothing but fighting and he is using fighting to take his kids out of their class.

Whether or not he's dribbling at the end of it is immaterial, if they end up loaded living on Primrose Hill. His grandkids will be born in the right circles too. Williams is a king. I bow to the man.

can't see it. Private schools charge anywhere between 10-20 grand per term. 2 or 3 terms a year....more than one kid....you're still talking silly money, his purses would have to be huge.

Wouldn't he be better using the money he'd save to move out of Brixton to somewhere with better schools? A kid that goes to private school with the posh toffs is going to have a tough time in Brixton as they grow up.

Parts of Brixton are ghetto, other parts wanky media hub.

I totally understand your point, but, you can choose your company. Kids are not forced to socialise with anti-social thugs, postcode gangs and other feral primitive lowlife.

Posh boys are a natural target, soft, can't fight and no street smarts, you can't always pick who you're going to get into beef with.

He's trying to do a very good thing and he may get badly damaged; he must have earned a lot of money (to the ordinary man); I'd have thought that fighting Tyson would be enough to pay for private schooling.

Do street kids fight in London? From what I see they stab and run away.

As far as posh boys being soft, tell that to middle class kids like Sugar Ray Leonard or Muhammad Ali. I wouldn't think too many street 'toughs' could take a right hand on the chops from Nicky Piper.

You can't choose who mugs you though
So to sum up your argument, children from Brixton should not be privately educated because they might be mugged.

Okay.

Leonard and Ali weren't middle class in the UK scheme of things - their father worked in a job; they weren't in a profession - they just weren't in the ghetto like Leon and Michael Spinks (and millions others).

is Piper posh or something? I don't imagine he's that posh i.e. "middle class" (whatever that is). Real posh people don't become boxers.

Sugar Ray became a professional early to capitalise on his amateur status and to pay for his father's eye operation I think. I doubt they were that wealthy.

Sugar Ray Leonard got a girlfriend pregnant, who took out a Paternity suit against him for child support, this in turn lost him lucrative endorsements because of the bad publicity, some thing he hoped to profit from after his gold medal, also at the time his father was hospitalized due to Meningitus and his mother had suffered from a heart attack, all these factors forced him to go pro, for the financial implications, great for the world he did.

i see steve bunce say that his kids was in private school hence why he fights BUT private school doesn't promise anything ,when i left school i worked in a warehouse for about 6 months and the guy i worked alongside had been privately schooled all his live probably cost his parents £100,000/£150,000 yet he was 25 working in a warehouse on minimal wage .i have a mate now that has one at private school and now he wants his younger 2 boys to go to the same school which would cost nearly £50,000 a year he's an electrian and his wife a hair dresser and they can't afford it .now everyone has said to him why not just move to a better area with better schools but i think it's a snob thing as in they like to tell people they have a kid in private schooling may be williams is the same .

The most expensive charge about 30k per year for full boarding.
Nowhere charges 20k per term.
