It comes to something when the best you can do is discredit your own evidence, ha.

So lets review this, we have an interview with the man and library evidence kindly found by yourself confirming his name as Stamford.

Then your evidence is a poster that calls Quarry and nickname he never had, links to obscure newspapers and your latest offering a newspaper that not only gets Harris' name wrong but they manage to get the other 3 sparring partners names wrong too. You couldn't make this stuff up

The Bajan Reporter - THE RISE OF JAMAICAN BOXING: REALITY SERIES “THE CONTENDER” GAINS POPULARITY

May 9th 2012

"Following the laying of the constitution, at least two decades later, regularly sanctioned fights by the Jamaica Boxing Board, would prove to be beneficial for sons of the soil. Ushering a stellar era of the 50’s and 60’s where early professionals made their regional and international mark. Leading the way was Percy Hayles winner of the Commonwealth (British Empire) lightweight title, George “Bunny’ Grant who won the Commonwealth Boxing Council Light weight Title. There were other notable Jamaican fighters during this period, who, although never got to acclaimed status as Grant and Hayles, had impressive records based on researched details. Those boxers who include, but are not limited to Gerald Grey, Alan Armond, Basil Campbell, Barry Mason, Wesley Hines, Bunny Sterling, Kid Totas II, and Stamford Harris."

The welterweight was Dudley "Kid" Harris who was born in Barbados.

There is an error in Stamford Harris' record, he is shown as being knocked out by Kid Bassey II but Bassey was a Jamaican welterweight, not a heavyweight. Bassey's record also shows him fighting another fighter named Kid Harris who is listed on boxrec as a Jamaican middleweight.

Anyone else find it hilarious that this clown was posting over and over that Harris was 6'5" which I kept saying wasnt the case, and now that its been proven wrong he keeps posting Harris' correct weight from his "files" as if he had this information all along? Isnt it marvelous what a double edged sword a quick internet search can be?

How come you changed the welterweights name from Stamford 'Kid' Harris to just 'Kid' Harris? Was his name not Stamford after all?

'Kid' Harris was a Welterweight that fought in Jamaica. He 'may' have used the name of 'Stamford'.

He fought - Hogan Kid Bassey II {twice} in Kingston, Jamaica.

I was wondering if they show him sparring with George Chuvalo in
that documentery THE LONGEST ROUND?
There was footage on Youtube of his fight against Jerry Quarry, its been removed though. He was noticably shorter than the 6'0" Quarry which was why people guessed he was around 5'9" / 5'10"

For the record here's the video of Harris vs Quarry...Harris very squat, similar in stature to Joe Frazier, not sure where 6'5" came from before but more like 5'9" so that's cleared this up finally :TU:

Thanks Controversial for noticing Stamford Harris' height while his listed height on this website was exaggerated. :TU:
