Kristian Laight wins bout number 181!!

Post by daviddee »

Seen on Facebook that Kristian Laight won his fight last night against unbeaten prospect Craig Wyatt 5(1) -0.. Well done Kris is the backbone of the sport and goes by the name Mr Reliable.. I think some managers may be a bit more cautious when matching against him after that .

Not really, I just think Wyatt's manager and trainer might have lost a little faith in him.

8 wins in 181 fights makes a boxer unemployable ? - what a sad state the sport is in.

Glad for Kristian. I also note from his boxrec that his next two fight are against guys with a 0-2 and 0-9 record. Could we see Kristian go on a Clark type run of form!?

I would imagine the board have had a word and he will need to win a couple now to stay licensed - regardless of whether he could I think they need to check they still can.

"Mr Reliable" is certainly that, always in great shape and has very underrated skills well done mate !

but aren't boxrec some how affiliated with Hellraiser Promotions? Sure that was suggested on the Jonny Greaves thread about his post being deleted

I'm not sure about that, but several independent reports were disgusted at the verdict

oh fair enough just was something alluded to on the other thread. I'm sure Laight has been on the wrong end of plenty of poor home town decisions. Maybe the ref got confussed who was the house fighter!

Oh I'm sure the poor guy has been jobbed a few times. But it's not about that, it's about the one fight and there's no reason another fighter should pay for past bad decisions

To be fair. Whyatt has prob been matched against helliots own fighters so don't read to much into him being unbeaten prospect. Am I saying Micky would tell his opponents to take it easy. Erm? No of course not. Hahaha.

Where do you get "blatant robbery" from mate ?

From the use of the word "apparently" I am assuming that you weren't there ?

I wasn't there either, but I would be very surprised if a boxer such as Laight against an unbeaten local home fighter would be given any kind of benefit of the doubt never mind a robbery.

I also note the comments about the impartiality of the reporting of this fight on this site - this is a worry and any connection should surely be disclosed.

:witzend: Yeh its well known how many journymen get lucky decisions while on the road.People moan about them not having a try but when they have the cheek to give it an effort and to get a ref brave enough to give a close verdict the "wrong" way everyone has a go at that.

Fair play to Kris, he's been on the wrong end of a few so deserves a break if it was a close one.
