No and no as well. Grant really was the beginning of the U.S. HW scene being dominated by ex-college footballers and basketballers instead of long-time AM standouts . . which of course correlated with its decline. Although his record pre-Lewis was more impressive than any HW's today not named Klitschko.

He had size and punch (and a lot of hype), but otherwise he combined weak ching with poor defence. Golota almost TKOd him in the 1st, and was up on the scorecards when he decided to quit.
Lennox finished him quickly.
McCline floored him with the 1st punch thrown.
No chance against Wlad, though he would get a titleshot(s) easily

He'd be top 10 for sure, but to answer your question, no.. I don't see him as being an exceptional talent today. He was big, strong, hard hitting and an impressive physical specimen, but his defense was virtually non existent and he wasn't very mobile. I did however watch his fight with Golata from start to finish and while he was in trouble several times, he did show heart in beating what was then a very tough opponent. He also had wins over Purity, Gonzalez and a few other halfway decent ( but not great ) opponents.
