If Mayweather vacates the WBC

If Mayweather vacates the WBC title as seems likely then one would immagen the first and second placed fighters would match up for this, according to there websight this is Witter and Gatti, anyone see this happening? That would be an interesting turn up for the books don't you think.

Gattis at 147 - I doubt he'd drop back down even for the WBC. Who next in line Branco or is he off the list. Zoo? Doubt that fight would happen but maybe Zoo would see it as a warm up - and hopefully get a nasty suprise.

The WBC top six are:-

1. Junior Witter (GB) COMM/EBU

2. Arturo Gatti (Canada)

3. Gianluca Branco (Italy)

4. Juan Urango (Colombia) LATINO

5. DeMarcus Corley (US)

6. Vivian Harris (US)

Add to that Kosta who is Emritus or what ever they call it, If Gatti doesn't come down and Branco has another attack of the fear which seems to be getting in the way of a match then who knows, all of them look quite beatable as long as Witter isn't on the slide.

Witter seems to be in a interesting position, i suppose he could fight for the vacant WBC if PBF vacates or if Hatton is made WBA super Champ then maybe Witter could fight for the Vacant WBA belt.

I guess if Witter really wants Hatton then the WBA route would be better, becuase surely the super champ & the normal champ would meet at some point.

I think from Witter's standpoint , that the WBC route would be the better one to go down. Two reasons.

1. Hatton will be made WBA super-champion , and Witter will fight for a de-valued world title. Hatton knows he's the real champ , so their is no point to the fight.

2. Witter fights for the WBC and wins , WBC in my eyes is the most prestigious and also Hatton is more likely to fight Witter when he's got that as the winner will be Undisputed champion.

I think Hatton and Witter could get it on if Witter scores the WBC. Witter would then have something that Hatton wants as apposed to it being the other way round as in recent times!

Golden Boy will promote the show and then there is a chance that the fight will be held in the states to generate all camps more money!

I think the missing link in the WBC lightwelter mix is Castillo. He's obviously moving up, and the WBC have been good to him in the past. Expect him to jump the queue.

Way Branco ducks Witter!

Gatti's at 147 and Branco ducks so maybe Urango or Corley could be most likely an opponent?

Would love to see an all British undisputed title fight.

Hopefully Witter beats the next available contender for the vacant WBC title and then that makes Hatton-Witter a real goer! Hatton would love the WBC belt and by unifying with Witter, Hatton could pick off some of the "weakest" champions of the main belts and become the undisputed man at the weight...perfect

With all that's been said I doubt that Hatton would ever want to give Witter an opportunity of any kind.

I hope Witter doesn't get shafted again here, but bear in mind, Mayweather v Judah hasn't been set yet, and I can see there being some serious difficulty with the contractual negotiations.

I think they'd be looking to fill the Man City ground if this ever came off. If Witter managed to beat Castillo (who may jump the WBC que) I don't know if Ricky would want the fight

I hope we can get back to the days when boxing can sell out stadiums in this country, imagen Witter Hatton, topping the bill, and possibly Froch (another Hennassy fighter) on the undercard. Massive croud and not a sniff of allegedly.

Well with the amount of Mancs Hatton can bring, the fact its at the Man City ground, the fact it may be for all 3 Belts and All British - I think its 1 fight that could do it.

I imagen if it was done they would want to make it a big deal as a card so they could market it accross the pond. Also for me it makes sence to try to piggy back exposior for up and comming fighters who are tipped to go far on big undercards.
