Just seen on twitter that Eddie Hearn publicly mentions $5 million for Khan vs Brook.

Surely Khan would want that over the estimated $3.5 million for Mayweather???

Re: Eddie Hearn offers $5 million to Khan for Brook
I thought Kell wanted to fight for a world title? What a joke.
Re: Eddie Hearn offers $5 million to Khan for Brook
Seems bizarre Eddie saying all this on twitter....
Re: Eddie Hearn offers $5 million to Khan for Brook
FYI this offer is from Eddies official twitter and not the parody account like I thought it would have been.
Bring it one.
No one I would want to end Khan more than Kell.

Re: Eddie Hearn offers $5 million to Khan for Brook
Kell does want a world title - but if you get offered alot more money to find out who is no1 in the UK then its hard to turn down. Thats if Khan vs Mayweather isn't on.
Re: Eddie Hearn offers $5 million to Khan for Brook
I get your point mate but it seems like Khan has been who they really have wanted to fight vs actually fighting for a world title. That's why there's been eliminator after with nothing actually happening. I think they were scared of losing against the likes of Alexander or another one of the top guys in the division because it would put a dampener on a potential khan fight.bigB wrote:Kell does want a world title - but if you get offered alot more money to find out who is no1 in the UK then its hard to turn down. Re: Eddie Hearn offers $5 million to Khan for Brook
The without options part gets me. I honestly cant see there being no options. Maybe Eddie is really that confident.

I totally understand - but a Khan blockbuster I am sure the governing bodies don't mind making it a final eliminator and give say Porter an extension on the mandatory.
Personally i'd prefer to see Khan vs Brook after he has won a title.

I think Kell would be in a better bargaining position if he did win a world title aswell as Khan would be new to the weight class. Surely that would give Kell a lot more bargaining and say in the purse split.
Re: Eddie Hearn offers $5 million to Khan for Brook
Brook is a good puncher but not at all proven at World level; I reckon Khan would outbox him - Amir is used to top level opposition, the fights that Brook has had wouldn't prepare him for a boxer as fast as Khan.
(If Brook doesn't get a shot by mid year I reckon Frankie Gavin could pip him; Frankie has looked solid lately).

Re: Eddie Hearn offers $5 million to Khan for Brook
I think Matchroom are worried it has just got to a roll of the dice situation with Brook. A Khan fight is worth much more money than Porter, so if he is going to win neither fight, at least they would make more money.
The other thing is, if he beat Khan, that would make Brook's name in Britain and America, where he is completely unknown.

I can't see Khan-Brook losing money for Matchroom. It would be a major event. Even taking in to account such an offer to Khan.
If Brook beats Khan, which isn't exactly that far fetched and he is instantly in the frame for all kinds of big fights. He could even crop up on Floyds list of potential future opponents if he does a number on Khan.

Re: Eddie Hearn offers $5 million to Khan for Brook
I think its a fight both fighter will fancy there chances in, my guts telling brook would win. He could gas and khan going tear him to shreads but i think he could stop khan. Brook really needs to get stepped up to world class if he isnt fighting khan he should be fighting shawn porter. Its really annoying me that he isnt fighting at the world level.palooka wrote:Brook is a good puncher but not at all proven at World level; I reckon Khan would outbox him - Amir is used to top level opposition, the fights that Brook has had wouldn't prepare him for a boxer as fast as Khan.

You could say that about most areas and give examples.... Naz won a lot more than he lost, Nelson defended abroad successfully as did Paul Ingle.Autobarn wrote:I just think brook wants a big fight - in the UKcolumbo wrote:I get your point mate but it seems like Khan has been who they really have wanted to fight vs actually fighting for a world title. Re: Eddie Hearn offers $5 million to Khan for Brook
Good post. Maybe Eddie thinks, as long as he doesn't lose on the promotion, then it's worth the gamble and it provides a massive domestic show for his pay-masters Sky. If Kell wins, he is very well positioned, if he loses, fxxk it.lillywhite14 wrote:Calculated risk.pyenest77 wrote:The without options part gets me. I honestly cant see there being no options. nelson was not the most positive of performers. at times, in Scandinavia (I believe) v sellers & cantatore in Italy), in the first 4 or 5 rounds there was a real concern whether he was going to start throwing punches.
it may have been different had nelson entered the cruiserweight hard case mix, o'neil bell, jean marc mormeck, wayne Braithwaite, in America. then he may well have illustrated my point.
I've noticed a moodiness, a negativity in the Yorkshire bred fighters, in particular Sheffield. when it goes wrong they won't snap out of it.

You're crazy. Diaz had khan all over the place, brook would stop him sooner or later.
As for Gavin, washed up Witter gave him he'll until he stopped throwing punches

If they fought I wouldn't be surprised if Diaz sparked Brook out cold.limey wrote:You're crazy. Diaz had khan all over the place, brook would stop him sooner or later.
Khan beats Brook in my opinion.
Re: Eddie Hearn offers $5 million to Khan for Brook
So instead of a world title fight or established top level welterweight they want a fighter with one fight at the weight?
They could get practically anyone in the division over with an offer like that and they throw it at Khan? What a joke, do we need to know anymore about where Brook's career is going?

Re: Eddie Hearn offers $5 million to Khan for Brook
He'd be in an even better position beating Porter and holding a version of the title. A fight with khan at WW realistically means fornicate all.lillywhite14 wrote:Calculated risk.pyenest77 wrote:The without options part gets me. I honestly cant see there being no options. In England, it does. It's far, far bigger than the Porter fight.SNG wrote:He'd be in an even better position beating Porter and holding a version of the title. It hasn't anything to do with where they're from. British fighters occasionally lose fights abroad.Autobarn wrote:I dorn't knor, I'm lorcal ladmickey1975 wrote:Autobarn wrote: You could say that about most areas and give examples.... You've used Naz as an example when he only lost once in his career. Hatton lost twice in America.
You provide a couple of examples of Johnny not opening up in the early rounds (he won both fights). Guess what - he also did that at Sheffield City Hall and didn't win.
Johnny is not a good example for your Yorkie-bashing theory. He won fights in 9 different countries (10 if you count the ridiculous decisions twice in Brazil). Can you name some British fighters who travelled better?
