when're we going to see MCDONNELL-HALL 2?
when're we going to see MCDONNELL-HALL 2?
ok, McDonnell was stripped in the midst of contract dispute. he upset hobson who now has Hall as IBF world champion.
McDonnell-hall 1 is perhaps the best domestic fight I've seen. it blew me away and I didn't even really know who each man was.
interesting that they both went on to win the IBF title, in thrilling fights - McDonnell v ceja, hall v malinga - in the same year.
has it been determined who promotes McDonnell - matchroom or hobson?
there's unfinished business between the two top bantams in britain, McDonnell's a fine fighter and it's sad to see his prime wasted, and hall surely wants revenge - there is no all british fight out there of greater significance.
I know things have to be sorted but when are we going to see these 2 at it in again - in another sensational fight? last time for british, commonwealth & European and this time for greater stakes, IBF world title...

It was an excellent fight, but nowhere near the best ever. You love the Super-Bantams, don't you?Autobarn wrote:ok, McDonnell was stripped in the midst of contract dispute. he upset hobson who now has Hall as IBF world champion.

Never ever happen.
Re: when're we going to see MCDONNELL-HALL 2?
Well McDonnells next fight is an IBF final eliminator so things could get interesting with this at some point.............................

Maybe he needs to join matchroom then? haCrazyboy wrote:Not for Hall not wanting it though, i can tell you that, factamundo.Parson Cross wrote:Never ever happen.
This fight won't happen, even if the IBF mandate it.
Re: when're we going to see MCDONNELL-HALL 2?
i know mate, i understand the politics involved sadly, all i meant was, he really doesn't mind who he fights, if anything gets in the way of that i don't think it would have anything to do with him personally is all i meant.orbtastic wrote:Maybe he needs to join matchroom then? haCrazyboy wrote:Not for Hall not wanting it though, i can tell you that, factamundo.Parson Cross wrote:Never ever happen.

Yeah, understood. Didn't think you meant otherwise.
It's a shame but that's boxing.

Re: when're we going to see MCDONNELL-HALL 2?
I really do. although these 2 are a few pounds shy. it's the best all british I saw televised since I've been on here posting in the past decade. the fight looked so much better than "just" domestic level and - to me - is given greater significance given both men beat top IBF ranked opposition albeit for a vacant crown.mickey1975 wrote:It was an excellent fight, but nowhere near the best ever. I would love to be in the room when Stuey says to Denis "make the McDonnell fight"

Re: when're we going to see MCDONNELL-HALL 2?
Is Ward in the IBF top 15? surely he cant be
This is probably the worst world title match up i,ve seen, not because of the gulf in class,im sure it will competitive first half of the fight before Hall pulls away, and if this was a British or Commonwealth fight, fair do,s but i can just about accept Hall getting the shot in the first place but Ward cant be in the rankings, this is not a world class fight, its a great domestic fight
Fair enough i might just need to stop caring what titles on the line and just look at it for what it is, a good match up but i think its hitting a new low TBH
The only people im happy for are Ward and his team, and i hope they take there chance but this is like one of Wazzas WBO fights

I'm happy for Stuey to get an easy voluntary and hopefully a decent pay day.
