Alex will probably be way out of his depth. I think he'll be stopped at some point after losing every round.

I think he can do just about as well as Aussie, Justin Fortune managed against a come-backing, Lennox Lewis. Wlad by beheading in around 4-5 rounds.

This is a poor defense, shouldn't really be allowed. On the upside it sounds like Joseph Parker is boxing on the undercard.

Wlad should win pretty handily, But it is great to see an Aussie Heavyweight stepping up and going for it!

We all wish Alex the best, and are glad that he gets his big payday for a long career.

But in reality, Alex ran out of puff in the 9th against Kevin Johnson, and Wladimir is several levels above Johnson. Klitschko's height, reach and experience will be a "bridge too far" for Alex, who sadly will be lucky to survive five rounds.

I like Alex, I really do. He is a warrior and the way he has gone about business so far in his career is impressive. However, as much as I would like to see anyone coming even close to getting Wlad in trouble, it will not be him.

Wlad is the complete package, Alex knows what is coming, and there is no gameplan he could ever bring to the table that will even come close to ruining Wlad's style. Wlad will not allow him anywhere close to him, if Alex does get inside (a la David Haye) Wlad will nullify and punish.

It will be a certain KO for Wlad, possibly rd 4-6, but I am sure Alex will give a good account of himself with what I view as one of the greatest HW's in modern history.

I voted for alex ko. there is only like a 1% chance of it happening, we all know it.
but if he is going to win that's how it will happen. and that's what i'll be cheering for when the fight happens. so that's why I voted that way.

we can hope right???? :OhYes:

Your killing me bigred!!

As I said, I really like Alex but I feel he does'nt even have a punchers chance. But good to see Aussie boxing in the big time, abait just for a night, but dont worry all as Mundine will have that reputation dragged down again in the next installment of one of his mega super dooper PPVs against 'South America's Finest' !!

I hope Alex does it but I am less convinced of his chances after watching fotels replay of the Boystov fight. neither of them looked like a top 25 HW.

Hopefully with a full time training camp Alex will be able to get fit and strong!

boystov was 33 w 26 by ko till alex fought him, also world amatuer champ so he can box, alex made him brawl which he could not do...and he did it for 12 rounds, alex has improved and for the first time training full time for this fight, if he can get(and thats a big if) inside klitscho's lead, he has a chance in my opinion, klitscho only has to have an off day and he aint gettin any younger

strength isnt alexs problem. He needs to fight high tempo constantly for however long this goes. One weakness of the klitchko armour is his chin, and if he fight awkward and high tempo I am sure wlad will be in trouble.

Secretly I really hope he will be given a chance to land, but wlads defence and the way he nullifies anything on the inside, as he has done to every top 10 hw since his transformation, it is a huge ask. I will be supporting alex all the way, but it just seems a very very very very very very very distint possibility.

Yeah I'm well aware of boystovs pedigree and record, albeit padded, which is why I was very impressed with Alex's win when I heard the result. But then when the figt was aired on foxtel and I watched it I realised just how poor boystov was. He is no where near at top 10 heavyweight regardless of his record. Alex was slow and had little to no head movement which will get him knocked out early against klitshcko.

Anyway I will be supporting Alex and cheering hard. Hopefully you're right about the full time training working wonders and it would be the greatest thing in the recent history of Australian boxing if he won!!

alex made boystov look bad,and agree that alex dosnt move his head enough,he is up against it,but fingers crossed for him, would be a huge boost for aussie boxing, only takes one punch and he has that..

I think the knockers will see a different Alex Leapai fit and ready to give his very best shot. Alex is a very family orintatad man hes not just fighting for himself but a whole community made up of Aussies and Saomons Get to know the man before you say he has no chance.

Everybody on this forum likes Alex, he is always thought very highly of on this board.

He is written off, nothing personal, but there is no chance he will win!

its hard to say tbh.

he is probably more calculated than he use to be, but when he was fighting low level fighters, he could afford to just go nuts.

losing to Johnson was probably the best thing for him.

he is never going to be the fittest in the division so u will never see a still fresh alex in round 10 of any fight.

He won't be seeing round 10, he'll be busted up by round 4. This really is a terrible mis-match. I can't believe there's not better fights out there, surely someone in the top 40.

Leapai is obviously top 40, he just earnt the shot with an eliminator, as opposed ti so many that don't, we all should be behind him, not joining the rest of the world. If he gives an honest account of himself, I'm proud as hell of him. Despite what people think, the Klitchko's will be remembered for centuries to come, if he wins, Klitchko beats Holmes and The Brown Bombers record.
