Amisale Jimenez at Jr 154 is beast too. Thanks for the Rankings Mike
Re: Jr World and Youth Wolrd Usa Predictions and Results 2014
We will soon find out-there are a couple of Russians and Cubans who will test him. This is a good year for youth boxers with the Youth Olympic Games in China in August as well as the World Championships.I expect/hope both will be shown by the AIBA internet channel.
Re: Jr World and Youth Wolrd Usa Predictions and Results 2014
Can't wait till the Youth Worlds and Youth Summer Olympics, The Stage is set For that Darmani Rock kid to Own. Haven't been this excited about a young Heavyweight since young Mike Tyson. Was Shocked to see the way Darmani handled John Luna. Wait until Darmani gets sum time at the Olympic Training Center with Coach Pedro, he will only get better. He only has like 15 fights
Re: Jr World and Youth Wolrd Usa Predictions and Results 2014
Interesting about Darmani Rock, does he have skills to go along with the athletic ability? Why has he been under the radar?
Re: Jr World and Youth Wolrd Usa Predictions and Results 2014
I saw him 2 years ago at Jr Golden Gloves and I wasn't impressed. He has gotten much better. A trainer told me he only has like 15 fights now ,so I imagine 2 years ago he was probably just Starting out. The kid is just gonna be to big, strong, fast and Athletic for kids or Adults to deal with.pendrake wrote:Interesting about Darmani Rock, does he have skills to go along with the athletic ability? Re: Jr World and Youth Wolrd Usa Predictions and Results 2014
Hey Mike 222 from London or Scallum,
I think you guys underestimated Ryan Garcia from Cali - Garcia won 2013 National Silver Gloves (2010, 2012 as well) and last year fought at age 14 in the Jr Worlds at 114 losing to Shakur (10 to 8) on a split decision. 2013 has not been Garcia's best year but he has won multiple nationals since the age of eight. He was a comeback kid at this years Jr Worlds after moving up in weight and winning all his three bouts leading up to the final championship with Haney. He truly earned his way to the top and boxing w/o one buy. Ryan and Haney are now 2 (Garcia) to 1 (Haney). I was with team Garcia at the Jr Worlds and it was an upset for Team Garcia to have lost to Team Haney but they were very good sports wishing Team Haney the very best at the AIBA Jr Worlds. As far as your rankings - Garcia was ranked on USA Boxing's website as #3 in Nation @114 for 2013, Garcia has a stellar resume but as does other Cali kids - like Brian Lua, Carlos Balderas and Brandon Lee - and many other boxers from across the country that you may not be aware of. I appreciate your effort but I hope people don't take your rankings to heart - but I think it is important to allow someone to counter what you put out there and clarify things if they think your opinion is a little off base. When you mentioned that Garcia might be surprised by Victor Morales if Garcia showed up at 119....well maybe maybe not - but it seemed odd that you would shoot that off to Team Garcia? - Seems like Garcia is the one who surprised a few at 125.

I have been hearing about this kid for couple years, unfortunately I have yet to have seen him fight. So he has fought Haney 3 Times?Luvboxing wrote:Hey Mike 222 from London or Scallum,

Re: Jr World and Youth Wolrd Usa Predictions and Results 2014
As at 20 January 2014 Ryan is ranked 2 behind Devin Haney at 125 in my rankings so I dont think I am underestimating his ability.Ryan did lose to Haney and has lost to Lua and Alanis in 2013 albeit narrowly.Predictions are mainly done for fun as no-one could ever predict everything.
Re: Jr World and Youth Wolrd Usa Predictions and Results 2014
Yes Ryan has fought many of the champions and some he has won and some he has lost and some were just crazy - well you know how it goes, he is 2/1 over Haney and 1/2 under Lua - he has won Lua as well but not aware of ever losing to Alanis? Who is Alanis? Come on Garcia has been boxing since he was 8 He has earned ten National Titles since then. He has three digits #of bouts won - but Garcia knows as well as other kids that are at this age and have been boxing forever that it is a new era and the party really has just begun for many of these boxers , give these kids all the support because at this point all the kids that have been boxing since they were 7 or 8 all have won and lost to each other by now and I am sure they know kids stuff is over its a new game and new season-peace
Re: Jr World and Youth Wolrd Usa Predictions and Results 2014
Yes now is make or Break time for the kids now . Hope all the kids reach thier goals. I don't know why but so many kids find it hard to stay in game during mid teens. Wish I knew why. Good luck to team Garcia at Jo's, will be looking for him thereLuvboxing wrote:Yes Ryan has fought many of the champions and some he has won and some he has lost and some were just crazy - well you know how it goes, he is 2/1 over Haney and 1/2 under Lua - he has won Lua as well but not aware of ever losing to Alanis? Re: Jr World and Youth Wolrd Usa Predictions and Results 2014
Youth Team Usa is in Camp , unfortunately it appears Darmani Rock suffered sum type of leg/ foot injury. Hope it was nothing serious, this kid could be a very , very good Heavyweight . He has very good speed ,size and athleticism. I think Team Usa has chance to win 4 Medals in World Youth Tournament with fair judging
Re: Jr World and Youth Wolrd Usa Predictions and Results 2014
Dang it looks like 2013 Aiba Boxer of the year and World Champion Shakur Stevenson has suffered a fractured to his left hand. Hope he can do World Youth Tournament in April
Re: Jr World and Youth Wolrd Usa Predictions and Results 2014
That is a pity but these things happen unfortunately.
Re: Jr World and Youth Wolrd Usa Predictions and Results 2014
Looks like the 6 ft 5 250 pounds Super Heavyweight Darmani Rock is back in action and headed to Russia with Team Usa , it appears Darmani knocked a heavybag out of commission at camp today. This kid is to big, strong, fast and Athletic lol

Saw this kid like 1.5 years ago and he is much , much bigger, faster , and better. This kid is likely gonna win Gold at Youth World Championships this summer

USA did well. We always have a good Junior and Youth program, and the best female Amateur Boxers in the World.

Re: Jr World and Youth Wolrd Usa Predictions and Results 2014
It wasn´t the best performance though at a World Junior/Youth Championship. In 1979 the US team won five gold medals. Robert Shannon, Robin Blake, Milton McCrory, Alfred Mayes and Marvis Frazier won gold in Japan. Also in 1983 the US team won three gold medals with Mylon Watkins, Arthur Williams and Orbit Pough (who was knocked out by a Young Mike Tyson a few months later). However since then, no US team had produced more than one gold medalist. The others were:
1985 Riddick Bowe
1987 Carl Daniels
2002 Juan McPherson
2008 Joseph Dawejko
