I'm going to be in Wales for the James DeGale fight. So it'll be nice to have some boxing on Channel 5 shortly after that I can watch. Especially as Galahad is the more likeable of the two fighters.

Alright, if you're going to be like that, I've got tickets to the Welsh Open snooker tournament that weekend and am unsure as to whether I'll be back in my hotel room early enough to watch the fight. It's dependent on what time the show is on Channel 5, and what time the snooker semi-final finishes. I won't know what time the snooker finishes until it finishes so there's a possibility I won't be able to watch it.danconnollyeire wrote: Does Channel 5 not reach Wales??
As I was labouring under the impression that people on this forum couldn't give a stuff about me watching snooker, I thought I'd summarise.

Hopefully the hotel's got 5+1 ??ILikeBeer wrote:Alright, if you're going to be like that, I've got tickets to the Welsh Open snooker tournament that weekend and am unsure as to whether I'll be back in my hotel room early enough to watch the fight. Is Snooker code for dogging?ILikeBeer wrote:Alright, if you're going to be like that, I've got tickets to the Welsh Open snooker tournament that weekend and am unsure as to whether I'll be back in my hotel room early enough to watch the fight. I think so. 5+1 is on freeview.ste1983 wrote: Hopefully the hotel's got 5+1 ??
I was staying there a few years ago when a Kid Galahad fight was on, but for once it was reasonably early start. (About 9pm I think.) And the snooker didn't finish getting on for half-ten. When you factor in the 15 minute walk back to my hotel, there's still no guarantee.
I did watch Tyson Fury vs Steve Cunningham in a Sheffield hotel on +1 though. I ordered some beer from room service, and the guy ran me up a pint from the bar.

Prados record looks poor but barely anyone at that weight available for the title.
Still good belt to get hopefully Galahad can fight solid international opposition later

Should be a steady nights work for galahad. Not entirely convinced he can go much higher than European level and be a success.

What's with Wales? I remember you saying the only live boxing you have been to was in Cardiff, and now this? Is it a favourite holiday destination of yours?ILikeBeer wrote:I think so. 5+1 is on freeview.ste1983 wrote: Hopefully the hotel's got 5+1 ??

GREAT division in europe, quigg bombing his way toward perhaps a big fight
Martinez, taking his title to japan vs hasegawa, a 2 weight champ bidding to become a 3 weight champ
Frampton, a mobile boxer of huge potential
gavin McDonnell, with a british title shot
galahad, going for the euro

Frampton IMO is the best out of all of them.Autobarn wrote:GREAT division in europe, quigg bombing his way toward perhaps a big fight

Barry handed the Lonsdale belt back to the Board last night.
Gavin McDonnell v tba for vacant title.

Re: Galahad v Prado March 22
a strong case can be made but some feel he's sat on his laurels following that strong win over kiko Martinez - and isn't making the progress he could be. fight with cazares could be interesting.columbo wrote:Frampton IMO is the best out of all of them.Autobarn wrote:GREAT division in europe, quigg bombing his way toward perhaps a big fight

It's a final eliminator for a shot at the WBC title though. Dont see it particularily being a worse fight than who Quigg is fighting in a world title fight.Autobarn wrote:a strong case can be made but some feel he's sat on his laurels following that strong win over kiko Martinez - and isn't making the progress he could be. fight with cazares could be interesting.columbo wrote:Frampton IMO is the best out of all of them.Autobarn wrote:GREAT division in europe, quigg bombing his way toward perhaps a big fight

Wow, Kid Galahad is finally getting on with it ! - has he been injured?
6 months after winning his last fight and getting better with each fight - like his fighting style something different.
Carl Frampton imo is def the best out of these guys though at the moment - shame on me not watched Scott Quigg fight yet.
