Did you change your mind from when your 'head said Crawford UD'?

Folk who haven't seen Crawford fight need to, you'll quickly understand why this guy is no Lacy.
I've seen him fight and I don't see what all the fuss is about. He schooled Prescott, so did Kevin Mitchell, he's never been 12 rounds, never fought anyone world class and is fighting thousands of miles from home, at least Lacy had done something to generate all the hype around him.
I think he's decent but I dont understand the hype though to be honest. He doesnt look more talented than Jose Gonzales to me who Ricky eventually caught up with. Not saying he wont win but im not completely sold on what ive seen. He had some good wins as an amateur, beating Danny Garcia and Mikey Garcia but he also lost to the former in a national semi final or something. He didnt win any major US national titles from what I can see.

He did nothing as an amateur and has so far done nothing as a pro, he does look to be similar to Gonzalez, although to me he also reminds me of Kevin Mitchell, more in the way he moves and throws punches than his style of fighting, albeit a rangier, switch hitting version. Ricky has experience of fighters similar to Crawford, has had top sparring from various different fighters and he's changed a few things, bringing in a strength and conditioning coach and watching tapes of the opponent before the fight, so he will know what to expect. Crawford is unlikely to have fought or sparred with anyone like Burns because his straight backed style, working from behind the jab with a high guard, is rarely seen in the US, so he'll struggle to find the right sparring partners. Crawford is the one with all the questions to answer in this fight and it's on AWE, not HBO, he hasn't got the backing of a big US TV network for the fight, so maybe they aren't quite as big on him as previously thought, which can only be a good thing for Burns. For me, if Ricky is at his best, he beats Crawford, but if he fights like he did against Beltran, Crawford takes it on points.

I'm judging Crawford on the night as his record looks very padded.

The only win that stands out is Breidis Prescott who, even though will always remembered for destroying Khan in a mniute, had flaws exposed against Mitchell and McCloskey (mainly stamina/concentration in 2nd half of the fight) . He had recently been Ko'd by Mike Alvarado before the Crawford fight.

Not only that Prescott was big for a Light Welter so must have been affected by moving to Lightweight again to face Crawford.

I've voted contraversial stoppage though But after reading all the comments on this site and others eg Crawford will dominate, school, box his brains out etc etc ..... I really hope Burns does a 'Froch-Bute' to shut them up.

Plus this sets up the Beltran rematch which is a must.

See post above.

I have seen Crawford only vs Prescott and klimov - very good fighter. It's possibly burns toughest fight to date and he seems to realise this. Prescott is a decent win but Mitchell also dealt with him.

He may come over and school Ricky, maybe this will be the test that finds him out - we will find out soon enough.

Just can't wait for the fight to happen now and really hope that it's a burns victory!
