He'd have a crack at Floyd Patterson, Bob Foster (in one of his heavyweight move-ups), and Lewis if he got sleepy like he did sometimes. Nobody else that you could possibly tag as "great" (Cooney was fun, but he wasn't great in a million years).

Finally an intelligent response. I agree he'd have a chance against Patterson and a complacent Lewis, and perhaps a few others.SamWise72 wrote:He'd have a crack at Floyd Patterson, Bob Foster (in one of his heavyweight move-ups), and Lewis if he got sleepy like he did sometimes. There are some people who consider Max Schmeling a great fighter and depending on what day of the week it is, even Ken Norton. I think Sanders would have at least a CHANCE at beating these guys, but who knows? Having some of the fastest heavyweight hands of all time, huge power and a south paw style is a rather nasty cocktail for any fighter to be in the ring with frankly. Even if his actual resume says the contrary.SamWise72 wrote:Which others who you could describe as great?

Oh my. Here we go again with the "fastest hands". Where do people come up with this stuff?drunkenpiper36 wrote:...Having some of the fastest heavyweight hands of all time...

I have no idea. He had fast hands for a fat guy. He was pretty much a homeless mans Tommy Morrison. The Great John L wrote:Oh my. Here we go again with the "fastest hands". Where do people come up with this stuff?drunkenpiper36 wrote:...Having some of the fastest heavyweight hands of all time...

Yes, pretty fast hands, but there are so many that jump onto that "some of the fastest hands of all time" sh1t it gets pretty annoying.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:I have no idea. Agreed, especially considering he was slow and plodding after 5 minutes. I mean if you want another southpaw from then, Byrd's hands were significantly faster. Quarry had faster hands, and I've never seen him on a list. The Great John L wrote:Yes, pretty fast hands, but there are so many that jump onto that "some of the fastest hands of all time" sh1t it gets pretty annoying.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:I have no idea.
