Stephen Smith looks set to move on to world level. So who is next seen as though Buckland has moved up? Sykes & Walsh must be favourites but there's a good pack just behind them. Ronnie Clark, Joe Murray, Maxi Hughes, Andy Towned, Jon Kays, Ben Jones. Wide open if you ask me.

2 fighters u missed who fought in a eliminator for the british title recently troy james and chris male. Troy won in the 1st round caught chris with a massive shot he got up but troy put the pressure on and landed clean. But chris is a talented fighter who can come back (look at sykes ko'd by buckland now fighting for the british title)


Mitchel smith also heard lots of good things about him.
Lots of good 50-50 fights hope they get made.

Mitchell Smith looks special but, from afar, looks like he should be down at Feather, possibly even Superbantam. Walsh and Sykes are the standouts but they are a wee bit further on than the others

This is definitely the case. Both head and shoulders above the rest at the moment. I actually believe should be ahead of Smith but he has had good promotion by Hearn. I also agree with Mitchell Smith if he can get down to Super Bantam or Feather in a year he will be British champ. Good style and exciting to watch a little small for Super Feather but I hear he sells a bucket load of tickets.. Will be brought along well

If Ward get to Super Feather I would be shocked. He's always been about 8lb over the limit and looked huge at the lightweight mark.. Hard to carry the power going down that much.. I really rate him though if he can he will do well.. Seems a silly move to me. Looking at his last fights he would be very weight drained

Ward very much a class act in the amateurs one of the best I've seen interesting to see how he handles the rounds at sf if he makes the weight

Do you think he beats both Sykes & Walsh then? Not seen that much of Clarke. & maxi for that matter? He was only a young inexperienced fighter when they met & ended up a draw. He seems to have come on a lot since then.

I think Ronnie/Sykes would be a great tussle which Gary rightly would be fav gong in but i,d give Ronnie a chance honestly,their actually both quite simalar IMO,Sykes has proven he is tough and has one of the best engines in Britain but I reckon Clark could match him and stay in the trenches when it gets tough in there

As for Walsh,that,s probably too soon for Ronnie,Liam was due to challenge for a world title last year i know but he,s definitely on the cusp of European level,Im a big fan of Walsh and wish him well in his career

All Ronnie wants is a chance to show he can compete with the best UK has to offer,a Maxi rematch would be good,I spoke to Ronnie last year at an amateur show and he believed Maxi was gonna beat Cardle

He looked huge against Rees and very weight drained against Smith.. I think he will do well at lightweight.. No point struggling that's when fighters get hurt. I like Buckland he gives you everything

Top 4 S/F behind Smith is :

Walsh, Sykes, Troy James, Kays.

Ben jones don't want to fight anyone, Mitchell smith nice boxer but too small for the heavy handed stronger lads in division I.e Troy, Walsh, Clark, he's to easy to hit and likes to hold his feet in front of you.
Same goes for Ward, slick boxer, nice & sharp at L/W but gets hit to often and not very strong and can't punch, same for Maxi Hughes, so can't see them devasting at S/F, I could be wrong, there's a ? Mark over these 2 at the min, there behind the rest of pack.

Clark is a decent kid, strong, tough & likes a fight, that may be his downfall though against people like Troy & Walsh who are proven in both power & chin department, Clark still needs to have a standout fight to put himself above the rest IMO but is closing in behind the pack I've named, but like the look of him tbh above Maxi & Ward, and like his attitude, willing to fight anyone, unlike some in the division.

Not saying what I've wrote is law, it's only my personnel opinion but from being involved in the sport and watching all these lads close up and first hand fight at various shows I don't think I'm to far wrong.

Yeah I noticed Coldwell said my team refused the fight on twitter with me and Maxi but I still have to speak to my manager regarding this! I have no fights set up as yet but will keep u all informed or no doubt my brothers will hee...
