Seriously, Golata is a great study. He was a guy who had it all, and had nothin' at the same time.

When his "A" personality was in control he could be brilliant. When Cybil took over, he was dangerous. He never seemed to let just one of his personalities drive for over 15 minutes at a time.

How can anyone predict an Andrew Golota fight?

Cooney would stop any edition of Golota I think. Cooney was widely underrated and he was a heck of a banger.

aye mate, Golota would be more terrified of Cooney than vice-versa, if not before the fight started, then as soon as the wind from Cooney's first missed punch tickles his jaw.

It usually took a while into a fight before Andrew Golota started to mentally unravel. I think Andrew Golota had the skill and the punch to KO Cooney inside 6 rounds, if Cooney was still standing after 6 rounds there's a good chance he'd wind up winning by DQ.

Both men liked punching to the groin, so maybe the officials should alter the rules and make it a ball bashing contest.

Golota always found a way to lose vs big punchers (he even should've been DQ'd vs Pa'Houa). Don't see that changing here. Could even see Cooney blitzing Golota early a la Lewis/Brewster.

Agreed. I like Gerry, but Golata for all his short comings did have tools.

He was very skilled. If he had the mental fortitude to go along with his Physical Skills, he could've really had a solid career.

Didn't the Duvas dump him because of his low blow problem.

I'm sure they did. On the Legendary Nights Documentary for Bowe-Golota, when they're recapping the time he quit against Michael Grant. Al Certo really makes me laugh when he says "When I was trying to put that mouthpiece back into his mouth I should've shoved it up his ass"

Golota was a talented fighter who just seemed to not have it in him to deal with a tough fight at all. He could be ahead 8 rounds to 1, and if the guy comes back and wins the 10th round. He's ready to quit.

It's sad that he when he finally started to get his sh*t together and keep his cool in fights, it was too late. If he had the mental fortitude he showed against Byrd and Ruiz earlier in his career, he could've really been a solid fighter.
