If this is true, and Harris is on the country in a hotel, it's hardly Fw's fault.

Your freind is a liar !
Medicals have too be taken annually and the bbbofc won't sanction the fight unless all Medicals ,brain scans , bloods are valid and all passed in the boxers own country before travelling .

I don't know - I am not trying to be smart with hindsight however I have read in the past that before going to the expense of flying a boxer (and his team) over and putting them up in hotels etc. that they get a check weigh and a medical in their home country ?

As a promoter, why wouldn't you do that ?

You do and he probably did. Then you get medical clearance from a board doctor but that usually happens the day before at the weigh in (it saves messing about on the evening of the fight etc) so I'm a bit confused as to when his medical clearance was denied?

Thats a shame I know Harris is way past his best but I had a sneaky feeling he'd give Skeete some real problems.

I don't rate Skeete as much as FW etc seem to think hes pretty much found his level (English title). Do hope he proves me wrong though as seems a nice fella.

No doubt the Warren haters will be all of this yet if/when it happens on a Hearn show its 'thats boxing can't be helped'.

On the flipside of that though, would Hearn book someone like Harris for one of the more notable bouts on his shows?
Harris, whilst a former world champion, is 2-6-1-1 in his last 10 and was stopped in 5 of those losses. He has won just twice since 2009. If Hearn used him as high up the card as Warren is then Hearn would be slated

In isolation, it's not the end of the world and a promoter shouldn't be slated for it.

The thing is, it is not in isolation. The copperbox card is nothing like it was first announced, every fight has fallen through.

Credit to Fwank, he has brought in the Fury's and that's added interest to the show.

Anyone who thinks Eddie wouldn't get slated if an entire Matchroom show collapsed, is dreaming.

You can already say that the Copperbox 4 show - which hasn't even been announced - will end up being nothing like the original line up that will kick off the ticket sales and marketing. Depends whether you're bothered about that or not. Some are, some aren't. It is intriguing that a promoter just cannot keep a single show together these days. On the other hand, he has kept a dedicated TV station going for around two and a half years and that genuinely takes some doing :TU:

Skeete possibly facing Chris Sebire, the guy who fought Jenkins recently, decent replacement at such short notice if it can be made.

I'd like to know why Harris was in the country when his medical info hadn't been cleared by a BBBoC doctor.

but the thing is Eddie doesnt announce the show (or certainly not the away fighters) anytime in advance usually so theres nothing there to collapse!

in reality they are both very similar just that Eddie waits before announcing rubbish away fighters where as Warren announces half decent ones that get chopped and changed

No wonder Shane Mosley got money up front before he travelled to Australia to fight Mundane, maybe Harris should have demanded some money up front, must be hard for him at this stage of his career, needing to cash in as much as possible.

At worst it was the shows 4th highest profile bout and arguably the second most interesting.

so 4th ranked fight, thats therefore compared to Rocky Fielding v Luke Blackledge (which was actually the most competitive fight on paper going into it) on the Froch/Groves card which don't forget was Pay Per View. Not exactly a million mils away is it?

You're wrong actually. Eddie announced last week's Wales show within a week or so of Copperbox 3 being announced. The Wales show held together fine. Copperbox 3's original line up went down the swanny.

There is a clear problem with Fwank holding shows together. I sympathise, because whilst Eddie has got Sky's backing (the sort of thing a boxing promoter would dream of), Fwank set up and operates his own TV channel.

4th highest profile (depending on how you view Hughie Fury), in terms of the actual match it was the closest or second closest in terms of the competitiveness.

Compare like for like. Grove v Froch is high profile and good, Chisora v Johnson is meh, Tyson Fury v Abell is also meh...
