Hastly arranged dangerous encounter for Castillo.

Who knew about this, a potential canditate for Ricky Hatton is fighting a former WBO Lightweight title challenger, who actually only recently lost an eliminator for Castillo's old WBC title in 3 weeks time. Michael Clark... you might have seen him on the Wright vs Trinidad bill, losing to Siranmongkol Simanasuk.

Strange match up, perhaps Castillo wants to impress his fellow countryman after his new found (and well deserved) recognition.

Clark isn't bad at all, like Castillo he has flucated between Light and Light Welter. Suprised that Castillo is taking such a low key match up.

This is a knockover job mate. Castillo will easily exploit the painfully slow reflexes and questionable stamina of Michael Clark.

I assume so, its just an odd fight for him at this stage of his career. At least Floyd Mayweathers fight with Henry Brussels (another one I thought was odd) had an eliminator tag.

Castillo should easily win, but he could get a cut which would leave him out of action for a bit. I think it is strange he is fighting this guy, with this publicity, at his marketability peak of his career.

Yes, I agree. I think you were pretty much on the money with this:

This match is probably to reinforce his fanbase in his homeland (maybe the low PPV figures were largely concentrated in Mexico - since he got stopped in the first bout and casuals couldn't justify buying another PPV so soon?). I imagine this fight will be on free TV and allow people to see, what should be, a pretty conclusive KO.

I don't follow rankings that much, but I'd keep an eye on how this one affects the WBC list.
